I got mine in the laziest possible way. The lady who is now my wife walked up to me in a restaurant, told me I was good looking and gave me her phone number. (That is almost true. An old friend an I were dining at a restuarant in Malate. She and her sister were recruiting foreign extras for a movie. She actually said the friend whom I was dining with was gwapo, not me, and she handed us a business card. Neither of us were able to take part in the movie and the pay was only 900 pesos a day, but my friend kicked me under the table and said "the younger one is gorgeous - keep the card and phone her!" )
I was chatting to a German friend of a friend on FB - turned out he lives in Manila and that he was a friend of my wife's sister. So I asked him if he knew my wife and it turned out that he had worked for her - he spoke very highly of her. Which was nice. Rather a small world!
Small world. Lucky, he wasn't asked for a movie role and given a calling card by your wife before she met you.
The lady who is now my wife sent me a message on DIA...all she said was 'hello'...that was the start of our journey...And now look at the trouble I'm in haha. I wouldn't change her for the world.
Didn't you? I know yours came with extras ... spare engine and wheels, as I recall. After I had finally gotten rid of that Russian-built old banger - all show, no go and noisy as hell - I was in the market for something new and exciting. Eventually I found what I was looking for ... I was taken-in by the soft tan upholstery, quality cushions, zero miles on the clock and a motor that when switched-on simply purrs. Although obviously built for the Philippine market, she's adapted to right-hand drive rather well
