My GF is just out of the TB medical testing centre and she is negative for TB all clear there but the box for abnormal is checked with regards to her chest Xray. Is this a problem for obtaining a visa? I don't know the implications of this .. need advice on this one as we are preparing to lodge the application in VFS tomorrow

As long as she got the TB Certificate stating she is clear of TB then you should be fine.

What did they say about the abnormal as regards to the checked box?

I don't think this will be a problem. We had one of our results say the same thing and our visas were approved. An unusual cardiovascular system would give rise to such a comment. It's more for your own reference so you can choose to investigate what could be a cardiovascular abnormality (although it might be nothing to worry about). So long as the test is negative you're fine.

    Y
Yes panic over she didn't read the rest of the certificate properly and only showed me the front page which immediately caused concern when I saw the abnormal box checked. So I told her to go and ask while she is there and in a position to do so. Turns out it was curvature of the spine because she was not standing up straight during the Xray procedure! My God that wee lady can cause a panic, it was more her reaction with loads of crying faces symbols in her Watsapp message that fuelled the panic! At the end of the day when senses have been regained they wouldn't have issued a certificate if there was a problem ..

Laugh. Yes. I think there is a tendency in the Philippines to exaggerate the smallest problem into a large out of control drama without really pausing to think through it carefully. Happy that it's a storm in a teacup. :)

Miscommunication or lack of it is if not most, sometimes a problem back at home. The lady in IOM should explain the results whilst giving her the certificate. I got scoliosis (curvature of my spine to the right) but they still ticked the box as normal.

Your partner should be okay as long as she has already been granted a certificate. :)

yes--scoliosis was discovered when mine had her xray back in april.

she had her "final" xray today---but now the pulmonologist is away till next week.

if i had any hair left to pull out--it would be all gone by now.

Not a very good service, you think they would have brought another pulmonologist in to cover, but maybe that is too easy.

At the end of the day excuses come cheap :)

Never mind bigmac, as long as you get the desired outcome a week isn't too long to wait in the grand scheme of things.
