Dom, you are 100% correct and the irony of our current situation is that so called liberals act in the most racist way when they hold other people from other cultures up to a lower standard than they hold themselves!

Is it still the same as in my days. Where only C of E is taught and all others put aside into another room. Or is there any exploration of many religions in the wider sense?

Until I started Uni I had only ever experienced Christian religions.
When I began working and travelling a whole new strange world opened up.

As so many people have turned away from religion in the UK, I cannot really see the point in compulsory R.E.
Most of the kids would go home and get no feedback from their parents anyway :erm:

From my understanding of what my daughter, an R.E. teacher, has told me the answer would be yes, there is exploration of many religions in the wider sense now.

When I was in school we were taught that protestants were going to hell and they didn't have to go to church, like us Catholics had to:rolleyes:

More's the pity. Explorations of superstitions are usually a waste of time regardless of the width of their scope.

One of many problems in the world today is a complete lack of knoweldge and understanding on how and why people think the way they do.

Hmmm....really? I don't think its a 'complete' lack of knowledge. In my opinion, there are some people who have a very clear understanding of how and why people think the way they do.

Superstitions are not helpful to growth or understanding in any way I can find. Maybe you can help?
