George floyd asked to be put on the ground, I don't know if chauvin did use maximum pressure, no one actually does except chauvin himself, but I don't see a murder.

Then it's a done deal, scrap the autopsy, heart problems, drug saturation, means nowt, just saved millions in legal fees, witnesses said he was murdered so go with that, case closed :ninja:

If you imped the blood flow to the heart or brain for 8 odd minutes you will kill someone.
The fact they sacked the 7 officers and put 4 up for criminal charges of misconduct and a 27 million dollar out of court settlement from the state does not show much faith in chauvin from his former employer

Summation for the prosecution (skip to 50 seconds as the opening contains fruity language)

When I was living in the US, I was aware that there was also a lot of animosity from the blacks against the whites but much more in the opposite direction.
One night I was asleep in a predominantly white neighborhood (spelt the American way) and was woken up by African Americans driving by in a car. The foul language was very racially targeted towards whites.
By and large, I didn't see too much racism although I took a white date out on a drive and we got lost downtown.
She almost had a heart attack going through that area and I realised how fear affected some people.
I found black Americans to be very friendly.

I have seen the opposite from some white Americans where the hatred is extreme.

Yep, that is why I typed "but much more in the opposite direction" in there, John. ;)

Justice? He had to be found guilty, even Biden, sleepy Joe himself weighed in with an opinion before the verdict was delivered, show trial with a pre-ordained verdict, I am interested if there will still be riots now BLM have their pound of flesh ;)

President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris called the Floyd family immediately after the verdict.

Mr Biden was heard saying that "at least now there is some justice".

"We're gonna get a lot more done. This is going to be a first shot at dealing with genuine systemic racism," the president said

In nationally televised remarks shortly afterwards, Mr Biden said: "Systemic racism is a stain on the whole nation's soul."

Meanwhile, Ms Harris urged lawmakers to pass the George Floyd bill aimed at reforming policing in the US. "This bill is part of George Floyd's legacy. This work is long overdue," she said.

The Minneapolis police federation, a not-for-profit organisation representing police - thanked the jury for their "dedicated work" shouldering "an enormous burden".

"We also want to reach out to the community and still express our deep remorse for their pain, as we feel it every day as well. There are no winners in this case and we respect the jury's decision," the federation said.

"We need the political pandering to stop and the race-baiting of elected officials to stop."

Chauvin is expected to appeal against the verdict, US media report.

They say one of the most likely avenues of appeal is the huge publicity given to the case, with the defence team arguing that this might have influenced the jury.

Also, Presiding Judge Peter Cahill said on Monday that public comments by Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters could be grounds for an appeal.

Over the weekend, Ms Waters had urged protesters to "stay on the street" and "get more confrontational" if Chauvin were acquitted.
