He deleted the tweet and tried to pretend it's not racial with a feeble excuse, it's as if he would rather the girl in pink was murdered by the other black girl than the would be murderess shot by a white policeman, I don't know anything about basketball either not my game.

I read that with real dismay earlier on.

The goods, allegedly taken. were taken from her, she was just walking in a confused state, walking and picking flowers from the side of the road.
Anybody in his right state of mind would have approached her and asked if she was ok..
And the behaviour of the custody agent is appalling, he should be fired and charged with something or other like not procuring medical assistance.

For the USA police, there is a terrible climate of fear mixed with anger as the risk of them being shot is very big.
It is the amount of guns on the streets that has caused the situation to get out of control year-on-year and decade-on-decade, with no sight of anything happening to stop the rot.
So many gun-related deaths to cops and civilians is an appalling situation.

I realised this when I was driving through Baltimore one day in the 1990's.
I did a minor traffic violation on the way to the airport (35 mph in a 30 mph zone) and TEN cop cars aggressively surrounded the car I was driving.
    Such a massive over-reaction.

When they questioned me and the girlfriend that day, they told me not to do it again and have a good trip back to the UK and joked that they would not be letting "the hot blonde Oliver Newton-John" go with me, that she would be going with them back to the station
Of course they let her goo too.

I am not condoning the actions of the two officers in the terrible assault on the lady outside WalMart but the culture of fear has made too many cops become over-aggressive and trigger happy and too many angry citizens are angry too.

Get rid of the guns and things would be far, far better.

    In America..??

I am pleased that you have retained a healthy sense of humour...

Somebody said that "Guns don't kill people, people kill people"... which sounds correct in any way shape or form one looks at it.

It is the general attitude that needs to change, and this, I am afraid is a non starter, especially in the good old US of A.

From my cold, dead, hands, it's not going to happen in our lifetimes. IMG_20210427_125508.jpg IMG_20210427_125508.jpg

When I lived there, I would regularly get involved in heated discussions in our local bar about this subject.
If there are two people in a room, say 5m x 5m, and they get into an argument, they would find it much harder to kill each other with a knife instead of a gun. A gun is too easy to use and so easy to kill people at greater distance.

Sorry, for me, it is "Guns kill people, much more than people kill people".

It reminds of a trip I did to Houston. I went out drinking with an avid drinker. He gave me a tour of the micro breweries in a town / village called Rice. He drove back to the hotel but we were pulled up by the police. They made him walk the line! Somehow he managed to pass the test, amazingly as he had had a few.

Judging by what Chauvin said pre sentencing I doubt we have heard the last of this.

The judge saw the kicks in the head as a contributing factor to the death.
