American Gangster star Chiwetel Ejiofor emerges as hot favourite to become the first black Doctor Who http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...el-Ejiofor-hot-favourite-black-Time-Lord.html
Hated the old series, but since Christopher Eccleston took the role I've watched it and enjoyed it.. Chiwetel Ejiofor is a pretty good choice, but I also think they might go with an unknown actor. Plus, Chiwetel Ejiofor has small roles in pretty much everything these days. But this kind of role would boost his career overnight!
A black doctor who would be interesting, they could tackle issues such as slavery and racism given how the doctor travels back and forth in time. Imagine a black doctor traveling back to the 1700s.
Another BBC biased excuse for apologists to cry mea culpa, mea culpa for something, which although inexcusable or condonable, was the norm in those days and should be put to rest instead of dragging it out at every opportunity to make people feel guilty to be born in a more liberal society. Guess what.......... I steadfastly refuse to feel guilty for something my ancestors may or may not have done.
By the way, your great great great Grandfather owed my great great great Grandfather seven shillings, which with interest and late payment fees is now £100,000.00 so when are you paying up?
As my ancestor didn't feed your ancestors to the Coliseum's lions and tigers I would expect some kind of historical respect... Besides, my ancestors did bring sewer systems, central heating, and introduced sex to your women....
Ladbrook are offering odds of 20-1 on Helen Mirren taking the role. It could be a woman.... William Hill was offering odds of 8-1 on the next Dr. Who being a woman, possibly Billie Piper...
It won't be a woman, but I reckon perhaps someone with Ginger hair!! After all, the Doctor has stated he has always wanted Ginger hair..
Or, hellooo, it isn't the BBC considering a black actor, less a black American actor, and you won't find the Doctor's adventures going in that direction. Slavery as a concept has been touched upon in the series, the latest example being the Ood, but it won't be causing your ancestors to whizz in their graves.
