Come back to the hotel and find the girls having a night out....! thank you lady's for the photo.
One more on The people of the Philippines.
Took its time, but it's turning out to be a good thread Kuya
Lovely shots Anthony! Especially your wife and the wee lassie and that last one of your wife, that is a great composition!
Our landlord is also a polis he has the same bike as your family member, now if only I could work out which Honda that is?
If I were getting a bike in the Phils that is what I would get, long travel suspension of a trail bike for the wonderful roads of Manila
Am not sure if it was my computer but I lost the photos, the first one's so had to delete the links upload the photos again and re post them......sorry about that..!
Missed that Anthony, I think everyone else did too
Pics are great
I believe its a Honda 250
I wondered, it's a standard bike for the police over there, but I never tried to find out exactly what it was, although I was always rather envious of my landlords police supplied bike
I used to drive a 250 Honda in the 1970's but that was a tourer and a bit of an overweight bike.
They wanted me to take my wife around the streets on a little 50cc, which I did, but my wife wasn't very happy on the back the bike was a little too small and we were not, it wanted to go somewhere we didn't...! and had to drive on the wrong side of the street....
I have a Honda 600VT Shadow but not been able to go out this year on it, would love to take that out to Phil, and am sure my wife would be more happy on it.
Been a long time since I owned a bike Anthony, I can imagine though how awful a 50cc engine would be over there but I suspect your VT600C could be hard work out there too.
I've not kept up with bikes over the years but the VT600C looks like a very comfy V-Twin tourer, I imagine it would be good on some of the out of town highways but I'm sure you also know the quality of the roads over there? You would always have to be on the alert for potholes and the likes, it could be pretty scary
There are many potholes in the UK, don't know where the road tax in going but its not on the potholes repairs.........O I forgot its going on them dam ramps that are popping up everywhere over night.....two sets of fork seals a year at the moment.
Certainly it is true that even when I started with bikes, back in the mid 70's, the roads in the west of Scotland were crap
I do feel that roads in the Phils today are even more unpredictable though, all depends where you are, but that's the point, you have to know the area you are currently living in.
The regular flooding is of course another big problem that would also affect bikers (and everyone else).
Anybody see the recent movie Bourne Legacy and the bike chase through Manila?
Not yet, unfortunately... there were so many films I had to get out of the way first, Batman, Prometheus, Ted and several smaller ones, that I simply haven't found the time yet. Is it any good?
Nice place to be!!
