Relatively speaking.... Luzon and the Visayas, I guess western and south western Mindanao is still potentially dangerous but that would just be speculation on my part. Again I am only speaking in relative terms, so far (in recent times) the worst incident involving foreigners has been the Manila hostage crisis at Luneta.
Not really mate it started as specifically about Turkey and has digressed to other Mediterranean destinations in part because of the tragedies of the last few days. The sky article certainly extends that reach considerably including seeing us here in the UK as a high risk destination and Thailand is mentioned in that same article. The Phils is clearly not a popular destination for Brits but it is probably still relatively speaking fairly safe.
Pretty warm in the UK just now. Hot weather forecast for this week. The beach is right across the road from me. No passport required. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wea...ning-as-summer-heatwave-set-to-reach-35C.html
I know what you mean. Not sure if I could persuade the Mrs to go, though. They seemed to have upped security there. Which is good, but am not sure if I would want such a presence on such a holiday. Having said that a work colleague of mine was in Egypt a couple of months back and he said there was military security everywhere.
There was a suicide bomber in Luxor, Egypt three weeks ago. Idiot blew himself up thank goodness! When I was in Luxor last September there were hardly any tourists there, hundreds of Nile cruise ships mothballed and anchored to the banks of the Nile rather than cruising between Luxor and Aswan, package holiday flights cancelled, some hotels were completely empty whilst others had a handful of guests. Whilst Hurgada and the red sea coast is still attracting tourists, Luxor has turned into a tranquil backwater. So good that I will be back again this year.
