My loved one received the news today that the Fiancée visa we applied for has been successful, something which I'm very happy about.

I would like to give a special thank you to John, Graham and the other chaps here at British Filipino who helped me no end with the visa process. I feel now that I will be better qualified to help others with any questions relating to the visa process

I am hoping for the future Mrs Timmers to join me here in the UK the first week in August.

I'm hoping that now the Fiancée visa is out of the way that the next visa submissions should be a little easier and less stressful.

Yes. I guess you will need to make some adjustments on planned flying dates and stuff. And sterilisation of the pad, like Aromulus always advocates. :D

I think that we will only be two days away from our original plan.

Thankfully I'm quite good around the house and keep the pad in a reasonable condition but I will certainly be putting in some special effort in the cleaning department before the loved one arrives.

Do you have a travel date in mind now? Might catch some of the summer.

Second of August we are hoping, and yes, hopefully a bit of summer left to tour around the UK for a couple of weeks, cant wait as I've only had two days off so for this year.

I guess the future Mrs Timmers will be flying from Manila .... She may, or may not, know this but Terminal 1 - the International Terminal - is about to close and all flights, except for PAL, will leave from Terminal 3. No firm date has yet been given, simply that T1 will close "sometime in July/August". If she is going to be departing from T3, she will need to allow extra time to allow for the fact that T3's international departures hall isn't actually finished and things like baggage scanners are in short supply.

Also, all domestic and international flights are now subject to increased security checks in line with those announced by America's TSA and the UK's CAA and any electronic device that can not be powered-up will result in either the passenger being refused to board the aircraft or the device being confiscated.

Qhh no we done ours almost 2 years ago. I was just highlighting that it took 52 days to process. Incidentally we were in the firtst batch of the July 2012 rules, the financial rules. That month there was a marked drop in visa spousal applications compared to the previous month. Again, all the best :0
