All is going well for me after nearly a week back at work.

Christmas Eve I had an Industrial accident (owners of the premises have accepted liability) that resulted in me having 26 staples inserted in my head, bruising to my skull although luckily no fracture.

Staples came out and doctors advised I can return to work, only so much daytime TV you can watch[IMG]

Cheers, my head hit the corner of the rear under run bar of a trailer.
Scanned for a fracture of the skull but good news it wasn't.

    Ouch, glad you're ok.
Bays are a nightmare between trailers or walls. Never enough lighting.

This was inside an old warehouse roof in poor condition oil on floor I was shrinking the trailer when I slipped. Customer admitted liability but my injury was not as bad as one case by solicitor dealt with where a driver got out of his cab and a grid gave way so his standing leg went through and down the drain hole shattering his hip, never worked since.

Nightmare, at least you escaped and are are able to work again :like:
I know a driver in DPD who fell off the back of a trailer when the load-bearing strap broke. They moved him into the office after he improved.

Must admit it’s playing on my mind to look at options after my holiday, maybe look at car parts delivery or prescription delivery sort of job!

    Those two jobs sound interesting.
I have no wish to do up to 15 hours a day and dealing with idiots at the same time.
I want to know when I will be finished so driving will be out of the question. As you know, transport doesn't have regular hours.
I let my CPC run out also, what a joke that is :erm:
I am considering being a support worker in healthcare.
I'll let you know if it pans out.

My wife works as a support worker and I went to see her one day.
A young man with learning disabilities (down syndrome) walked over to me, told me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek. I realised right then and there that some people really need support.
I have thought a lot about this type of work.
I must admit that wiping peoples' bottoms doesn't fill me with joy......
I will have a lot to learn but I like to talk and listen so that's a good starting point.

Have you thought about patient transport, it’s something that along with the other 2 options I will look at, as you meet people, get out and about and do caring work in the community.

TBH i would be very surprised if DVLA would let you go back into Heavy goods again.

Here where we live there is a large special needs organisation--my wife used to be a support worker there. She is on good friendly terms with the owner--another filipina--who wants her to go back. Several of her family work there now. The company is crying out for more care staff.
