Our intention is to apply at the end of next month:

    She has:

Her Passport and Kieran's passport, both with stamps showing a trip to Hong Kong last year.
English Language test pass, valid till November 5th this year

    She needs to get:

New NSO Birth Certificates for herself and Kieran dated within 28 days of the application
New CENOMAR dated within 28 days of the application
New TB Test Certificate from the IOM Clinic in Makati

(Should she get an NBI Clearance?) Anything else that she needs? Obviously the CFO sticker comes later.

She has my original Birth Certificate, my P60 from last year, receipts for all the remittances that I have sent her over the past four and a half years.

    I am sending her:

Original signed Lease for 12 months, floor plan of property, letter from landlord's agents confirming that there is no objection to her and Kieran living in the premises.

Six months pay slips each signed and stamped by my employers
Six months copy Bank statements stamped by the local branch of the bank.
    This year's P60
Letter from my employer's HR manager confirming my salary and that I have been employed since 2004.
Copy of my contact of employment.
Photocopy of all pages of my passport, showing visa stamps for visits to the Philippines over the past four years, signed as a true copy by my solicitor.
Screen grabs of Facebook pages showing relationship
A few photos of us together
A couple of pages of Skype log.
    Provisional booking for wedding.
    The completed Financial Requirements form.
Print off of online visa applications for Kaye and for Kieran.
    Anything else required?

    many thanks in advance

You haven't started your employment yet 20004, that could be a problem :)

    Everything there looks just dandy.

When you actually write down the documents that you are submitting for the visa it doesn't reflect the hours and hours you put in to get all these things together.

Its harder work than it looks on paper.

We submitted quite a number of YM log and Skype log chats to try and emphasise the ongoing relationship over the distance.

Plus a couple of itemised phone bills demonstrating the same.

How about estimates for wedding cake, reception, suit hire etc. Proof of intent to marry has been a weak point for some in the past.

Ha! For a woman who has said that if she MUST get married she will do so wearing white shorts and a white T shirt and trainers!

But I will book a reception - good point!

Or at least get a written quote.

    Receipt for rings?

I always recommend enclosing a box of Kleenex tissues for the ECO once he or she has read your love story in your joint statement. :D

receipt for engagement ring is long lost - but I do have the receipt for the engagement party.

No mention of a Joint Statement or some sort of covering letter? Or both.

Here was our covering letter for our spouse visa, written by the agent but easily adapted:

Why do birth certificates need to be within 28 days of application? I don't understand that?

Cenomar is not needed, but no harm in including it.

Have you done letters giving details of the story of your relationship? You need to do those.

Email your registry office and enquire about getting married. They will reply and say you both need to be present to give notice. Then include the emails.

Maybe do more than a couple of pages of Skypechat. We put in our first month's chat plus the most recent 6 months.

Andrew has the basics, we must remember, joint letters, cover letters and the list goes on are not requirements, the UKVI want hard facts not love stories

A good covering letter sets the scene. Points the ECO in the right direction. A one pager. It also telegraphs to the ECO what is in there. Harder to say that it isnt, that way.

Most documents I have ever written have a list of contents and a preface or something. And most that I have ever read.

Andrew is an English graduate. He knows the value of a list of contents.
