Yep watched a BBC consumer programme once and it highlighted that there was categorically no difference between a supermarket own brand medicine and a well known one. In fact there was a code on the packaging providing a batch number (think thats how they described it) which was the same on both packets. The expensive one was just that due to marketing which of course also has to be paid for as well as the hefty mark up.

Not without a little excitement - K was told to attend between 8 and 11 today. She got a taxi to Makati from Quezon City at 5am, with the six year old little k...

... at ten, she abandoned the taxi in a traffic jam and strode through the rain to the LRT station... and made it into the lift at the IOM Clinic on the stroke of 11...

I got this text:

"Done. Going home now. It's raining. I have a headache".

I think my next step is to pay the fee, K needs a new CENOMAR and since my financial data is now more than 28 days old I need a new letter from my employer and another bank statement and pay slip...

Looking back, we cut it fine on the timing in the month. And we had a delay with the courier, but it was just the one extra day. So just got it all in by the "deadline".

my fiancee is due for another check up at makati this week. i cant imagine an 8 hour coach trip to a hospital. but theres a typhoon and the roads are flooded. so might have to cancel it. 3 months into it now.

Jogging along getting closer to the finishing tape

I think I have just booked K and k's appointments for their biometrics and visa application submissions at VFS Manila.

On Monday July the 27th at 10.20 and 10.30. (We hope!)

I say "I think" because as others have said the Visas4UK website is simply dreadful. It took payment for k's visa and appointment quite happily, then when I had (I hope!) also paid for K's it informed me that "we are extremely busy" (at 3 pm UK time on a Sunday afternoon?) and told me to wait an hour before printing K's application. It has sent K an email confirmation of payment for k but not for her but it has debited my card for both and printed a payment confirmation.

Attempts to book the "premium lounge" failed completely and I cannot find where to start booking that again because it spat out my Barclaycard and when I tried to use a debit card it said that "track" was "already in use" and I had to start again.

K is looking forward to meeting the good ladies of the CFO; she finds the idea highly amusing, but she also finds the idea of people whom she has never met prying into her private life very offensive, and unless she calms down between now and then she is going to pretend to be a Scarlet Woman and see what they do...

Could be fun.
