My partner has IELTS 7 and is now studying for the CBT - I am paying for her studies as I want her to work where I live - not in London......

Is the 12 months experience necessary too after the IELTS?

Not necessary as Uk will take starter nurses.........

Finally my partner passed the interview to work in the UK and has been accepted in my local hospital. Perseverance is the key.

    Well done

This is a path we intend to go down so its heart warming to see a positive result eventually.

The starter nurse quote intrigues me as the gf insists its a 2 year experience requirement before the NHS will entertain them.

She is studying hard for the CBT and I sent her loads of info that I found online, including in Scribd including leaving her on my last trip 'The Royal Marsden Manual of Nursing Procedures Ninth Edition' - realistically she could be in the UK by August or September.

Good news. And what is more we are going to need as many Filipina nurses we can lay our hands on to replace the European ones once the draw bridge goes up. :like:

Take a subscription on Scrbd and you can download the IELTS books - it requires a lot of studying. If you are single it may take you two months, and if you are married with three children longer.

For the CBT you need a copy of the blueprint which you can find in the chat forums of allnurses.com

Suggested CBT readings See the following links.

As for the CBT prep, a lot of those who passed this test before used the Royal Marsden Book as a review material. (My partner found after the exam that the blueprint was the most helpful). I had bought her the Royal Marsden Book and though she read it in inside out - she said that the blueprint was the most helpful. Indeed the NMC actually want nurses to pass the exam! That is why the blueprint is a must!
    Essential reading:
    https://nursesarena.com/exams/nmc-cbt-blueprint-manual-pdf-free-download/

(source allnurses.com) But what I found very helpful when I took the exam were those links provided by NMC in their website which is called the NMC blueprint. Click on all those links, some don't work but try to at least read each one of those.

    https://www.nmc.org.uk/registration...ined-outside-the-eueea/adult-general-nursing/

On https://allnurses.com/ there are a lot of threads on the NMC CBT.

    Also these links - https://www.scribd.com/document/366880186/NMC-CBT-2017

    https://www.scribd.com/document/364110682/CBT-MOCK-TEST-1-2-and-Answer-Key

When my partner took the exam - she arrived at the test centre in Manila and the guards only knew that the NCLEX was being taken there - she was the only nurse who did the CBT!

This is the best way in for nurses to the UK - even if you are going to marry one - this is less expensive than the marriage visa etc.
