Okay. Just read that. My eldest daughter went to a very high ranking private school in Manchester until the age of 18. My youngest daughter is at state school now. Yes, I agree with the article. The private schools and their parents will be better placed to deal with the current situation. Class sizes are radically different for a start. As the article says, the eldest daughters school seemed to build something new every year. They were constantly spending on the school building infrastructure.
Not really Mike, I don't get the context. On it's own that chart is questionable in terms of accuracy, and in the Express article it is out of context as it is not referenced anywhere in the Express article, there is nothing in that article that references symptom checking, the chart is just thrown in by the Express in the middle for some reason. If the article was saying teachers need to look out for symptoms in kids then it might make some sense to me but it doesn't. edit: I realise that the source of chart is supposed to be the WHO still does not make it accurate.
My daughter's mum teaches in a state school in Scotland they are using remote teaching as well. My daughter reported pressure for earlier return in her school (private school).
At my daughters State school they aren’t using remote teaching. They just send them Links and a list of assignments. It is then down to the child and parents.
The trouble is that private schools within limits can do what they want and as businesses they may well be pocketing furlough money will still collecting the fees, in other words while they are still profitable functioning viable businesses. Personally I don't support the idea of private schools although I am happy for my daughter that she has a good job that pays well, it was her choice to work in the private sector she considered working overseas at one point and I think I would have preferred that career choice for her. As far as I can see the private schools are actually still open just remotely.
Finally, we may be getting somewhere with the nations susceptibility to Covid 19 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...tches-nanny-state-worries-demands-action.html
I know two private school teachers teaching Latin and Italian respectively, from home, using remote online teaching. One uses Zoom, the other uses some similar method.
Maybe different in different regions and or different schools. Or maybe differing age groups. I think a teacher could teach a face to face class and teach pupils remotely using Zoom, simultaneously. Better than no teacher interaction with the kids.
The meme I quoted was on Facebook, Jim. I thought the message in the meme was shocking so I did a little research and the Express page came up which contradicted the meme. I have no idea why the Express included the chart in their article but I thought it was interesting so I posted the picture of the chart here.
Fair enough Mike, I think I have seen it before, but it's quite old, it or one like it was around at the beginning of the outbreak. I disagree with it for the reasons I mentioned earlier, I think 'sometimes' is far too vague and as the virus has spread the recognised symptoms and frequency of symptoms have broadened, even anecdotally fatigue, aches and pains, Diarrhoea appear to be rather more than 'sometimes' or 'rare'.
There is BBC Bitesize and Oak Academy but there is no interaction between teacher and pupils like there would be on Zoom for example.
Some of these terms are used scientifically in Geology for example. So a lump of rock might include “rare“ this or that mineral or “common“ this or that mineral. There are set boundaries between the expressions. But not so sure in the case of the Express table. Occasional is another one.

Good news, the alcohol ban has been lifted. Got a text from my local sari sari store saying they have 4 crates of red horse reserved for me. Feeling good about life over here now, wife and I had a short walk to the beach and had a swim, very humid now and had a few storms which was very welcome.
