So if they say got right now a 12 point deduction I think that places them 5 points ahead of Everton on current points
Alan Shearer: Ban European Super League clubs from Premier League https://www.bbc.com/news/av/uk-56813206 Clubs opting into the European Super League should be banned immediately from the Premier League, says former England captain Alan Shearer. The striker, who scored a Premier League record 260 goals for Blackburn and Newcastle, told BBC Breakfast the proposals "were not right", describing it as a "closed shop". The proposals have faced a fierce backlash, including from fans and the government, although Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says the ESL will "save football".
Whilst I disagree with this super league nonsense I think there is an element of greed in all clubs, wanting the best players, a new stadium, new kits, a place in high profile revenue generating competitions but every sport has a level it should stop at. I can't help but feel that where the club's that languish in high mid table or less will jump on any bandwagon of points deductions etc to try and position themselves into a place they cannot achieve on the field. Woodward was due to go at the end of the year it looks as though that has been bought forward, in my eyes him and the Glazier family were never the right fit for United built on the endeavour of a Manchester butcher.
This European Super League debacle has made so many sports-loving people very, very angry across Europe. The fall out will be immense and bigger than the original stupid plan. Every true sport fan will want all the owners of the 12 teams to fall on their swords. Hit the owners where it will hurt the most. It was all about money for them so the punishment should be likewise, and by many means. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ESL founding members England Arsenal Chelsea Liverpool Manchester City Manchester United Tottenham Italy AC Milan Inter Milan Juventus Spain Atletico Madrid Barcelona Real Madrid
I don't think you really understand the true animosity that the owners of the 12 teams have unleashed in all the other teams because of their greed, John. Justice will be done.
You will see what the ramifications will be very soon, John. Sponsors will also desert the dirty dozen.
I am well relieved. I also realise, after reading up, that City and Chelsea were not the co-instigators but only joined in at the last minute for fear of getting left behind. I may soon be going shopping for a comfier settee with inbuilt beer and cider can mini fridge
You need to improve on West Ham first. 'Admirable to admit a mistake ' - Uefa Uefa president Aleksander Ceferin welcomed the reversal, adding: "I said yesterday that it is admirable to admit a mistake and these clubs made a big mistake. "But they are back in the fold now and I know they have a lot to offer not just to our competitions but to the whole of the European game. "The important thing now is that we move on, rebuild the unity that the game enjoyed before this and move forward
I wouldn't be so sure about that. The greedy six could be banned. Also, you know the qualities of the charming man from Reggiolo
Manchester United and Liverpool owners apologise for European Super League proposal: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56828413
No public apology yet from a Arsenal, Spurs and Man City that I have seen, I am so happy to be an Everton fan. This powerful photo on the BBC website shows the level of resentment and anger (this demo outside Chelsea's ground before a match) and shows how fan power can work: Face masks and alcohol optional.
