I am not sure about handwritten, these days. But a few of our other members will know for sure.

With the house, you would need to obtain a letter from your hubbys father to say it is okay for you to stay there.

NatWest would not stamp my online statements (visited 2 x branches) maybe yours will be different. because of this I held up the application and ordered 6 months of bank statements which took two weeks to arrive.

You could try printing them from online and taking them into your bank. And just asking the staff to stamp and sign them. 10 minute job. Worth a try.

That's exactly what I did and they turned me down, it is worth a try though.

Depends on bank it seems. Mine is quite happy to stamp and sign.

You are right, it depends on the bank, mine the NatWest wouldn't and I heard here that the HSBC wont either. When I moaned about it at one of the NatWest branches I went to they said they stopped doing it, why she couldn't say, whether other NatWest branches will stamp your statements, I do not know.

If they won't stamp then a letter of confirmation that the statements are genuine is the next best thing I guess?

NatWest wouldn't do that either :( I was extremely annoyed at the time.

Lloyd's stamp printed online statements no problem.

3.3.4. Bank statements must be on official bank stationery. Alternatively, electronic bank statements can also be accepted for all bank accounts (the account itself does not have to be exclusively online) as long as they are either accompanied by a letter from the bank on its headed stationery confirming that the documents are authentic or which bear the official stamp of the issuing bank on every page.

3.3.5. The bank statements must cover the specified periods as described in the Immigration Rules for each of the sources of income relied upon.

3.3.6. As an alternative to a bank statement we will also accept:

    • a building society statement or pass book; or
    • a letter from the bank or building society; or
    • a letter from a financial institution regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority or, for overseas accounts, the appropriate regulatory body for the country in which the institution operates and the funds are 9 located. The financial institution must not appear on the list of excluded institutions under Appendix P to the Immigration Rules.

    (3) a letter must be on the headed stationery of the bank, building society or other financial
    institution and must clearly show:
    (i) the account number,
    (ii) the date of the letter;
(iii) the financial institution's name and logo; and
(iv) the information required on transactions, funds held and time period(s) or as otherwise
specified in Appendix FM-SE in relation to bank statements.

    Congrats Anne!

Your list of docs is very helpful. Can u post tips on how you to organize docs? Also, where did u apply for your visa? Makati or VFS Global in Cebu?

Thanks HanLan. Technically, my husband-to-be should get all the credit because he was the one who has been doing most of the part! I just inserted my documents collected back home in the Philippines. The list was based on the list provided by VFS Manila. However, we applied in Cebu branch because I was based within the area. We just paid for the additional service fee.

How's your application going? Good luck!

    Hi Anne,
I got my IELTS result and TB certificate. Next step is to prepare the proof of relationship docs while waiting for my husband's payslips. We plan to lodge the docs next month, should I book an appointment online soon? I would probably do it in VFS Cebu since I live within the city.

I believe so. Though the actual figure varies, based on exchange rates. Some of the recent applicants will confirm either way.

Hello again. It would be best to book your appointment when all the documents are ready for submission. Also, an appointment cannot be booked without paying for the visa fees which is 1513 US dollars. @shengsei1990 , yes it is in dollars and you have to pay through credit or debit card. In our case, my fiance was the one who accessed my account in VFS and paid for the fees. We got stuck at first because we used my debit card and unfortunately, it didn't go through because of the bank's credit limit.

In addition to the process of the online appointment (as far as I can remember), the site will only give you a week to complete the application otherwise you have to apply and fill out the form again. However, you can make an account at www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk.

Let us know how it goes. :)
