bear in mind your wife's visa has a 30 day travel window...

this has to be the most ridiculous decision ever. if i were you i'd write to ukvi stating the facts--and ask them to reconsider. and send copy to your MP.

I don't believe I did, which with hindsight is pretty silly...

Yeah i noticed that, it can be reissued for a fee but not sure how much or how long it takes
so my thinking was to get her here, and then she returns after 2 weeks and stays till we have my stepsons visa sorted
I assume that once she uses it she can come and go, up to the expiry date.

Ahh this is so heartbreaking. I’m bit worried now if they refuse my son’s visa .

Can I suggest you get your good wife on a level playing field CFO then get her across to the U.K. get BRP collected then she is straight in terms of herself.
Lodge an appeal. Let wife return to the Philippines and progress from that footing.

Not as silly as them not knowing a non settled person canno be a sponsor.

    Very disappointing.

From their refusal it appears you need to provide them with more evidence:

You have applied to join your sponsor, who you state is your mother...

You state that your sponsor has sole responsibility for your upbringing however you have
provided no evidence which shows that your sponsor has had day-to-day responsibility
    for you.

You need to demonstrate that she provides you with all the emotional, financial
and other needs which you may and do have and that she can and does exercise full
control over the major aspects of your life, such as schooling, religion, medical care etc.

You have not stated how often you see your biological father or provided any evidence to
show that your sponsor has sole responsibility for your upbringing including control over
aspects of your life such as schooling and financial needs.

You have provided little evidence of your personal circumstances in your country or why a decision has been
taken for you to move the UK.

Probably a good idea for you to ask the others on here sponsoring children what evidence they provided to demonstrate all the things that they've indicated are lacking in your application.

They want evidence - something in writing that they can use to justify their decision... if you don't, or cannot, give them what they want at the moment then you need to find out what would satisfy them (from other members here) and make a plan to collect or generate that evidence.

Easy ones to me would be schooling, doctors and church if the mother attends school report sessions, doctors appointments and they go to church together then you should be able to get a "professional" (teacher/doctor/priest) to evidence that... or suggest the mother starts doing those things so they can get the evidence later.

Not much point in appealing if you haven't provided them with good evidence :frust:

Thanks for all your comments.... I've not been on here for a few days due to illness...

We have decided to for my wife to come over, so I'm flying out early Feb staying 2 nights and flying back with her, shes never flown so far and didn't want to do it alone first time. We'll collect her BRP and sign her up with the doctors etc... after 3 weeks she'll return and wait until we have a VISA for my stepson.

Just before she leaves we're going submit another VISA application for my Stepson providing all the extra evidence that has been highlighted in their refusal letter... and get a VFS appointment before she leaves

she'll bring with her all collected evidence which we'll sent to sheffield once shes here...

If you're not particularly well, and going by your previous attempt you're not the best at filling in forms and paperwork, it would be a good idea for you to get someone else (who is good at things like that) to check over your next application before you submit it...

When I said I've been ill, I only meant I had a cold....

I don't have any problem with filling in forms or dealing with paperwork, I work as an office based engineer writing specs and installation procedures. I've ran my own company for the past 20 years.

Their refusal was based on not supplying enough evidence, not any inaccuracies of the forms.

I think you've made a inaccurate assumption there.. but thank you for your input.

    Congratulations on getting your visa.
I applied for my son still waiting for a response.
Please can I ask if you eventually had to pay for IHS for your daughter.
