    09 August 2012 - Applied for Naturalisation.

15 August 2012 - 6 days after submitting my citizenship application my payment was taken!

12 October 2012 - 9 weeks, my citizenship approval has arrived!

29 October 2012 - Oath taken (this can be done earlier, but since I was abroad I had to book for when I can be in the UK.)

20 November 2012 - IPS interview 3:45 PM (this depends on the availability nearer your area, but if you don't mind traveling wherever has the early availability its up to you! I was only offered London, Crawley and Reading. others are quite far and I don't know how long the journey is, its always better to stick to the place you know! ;) You can't be late! I was there 3 hours earlier and wonder around in town before my interview time.

    22 November 2012 - Passport arrived 9:30 AM

From 09 August to 12 October - 2 months & 3 days to be exact before they contacted me to invite for an interview.

Now, from here it depends the availability how long you can get a booking for an oath taking.
Between my Citizenship application to oath taking it takes 3 months & 11 days
And it depends if you apply for passport ASAP its less than 48 hours after interview and my British passport arrived!
    :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

That happens to me when I applied for my son's renewal of his passport I forgotten to give the 3 digits pin so they wrote to me and said the 3 digit pins was not filled so I called them and give them the bank details again and it was taken the same day so is you call them, its faster than filling a form and submit it to them! ;)

    Right update time.

We applied for naturalisation at the start of november 2012 but unfortunately we had a letter back mid novemeber saying they couldn't get the money out of the bank account. We sent the debit form in again and the money vanished out of the account at the start of december. Last friday we recieved a letter from the home office saying the she has been approved for citizenship:D

Phoned up on monday and arranged her ceromony for the 21st feb at 6pm so thats about 2 months for the paperwork to go through and 5 or so weeks for the ceromony.

    You BEAUTY

Just have to sort out her passport in quick time after the ceromony. I'll call into the post office when I get home to talk to them about it.

Ensure you have her referee sign the form and her photo on her passport application before the ceremony, so you can apply for her passport right after the ceremony! :like: then they will send you a letter of invitation for the passport interview. :) then you have to phone them to book it.

Note: on the application form, upon submittion to the post office, ensure that the date when you sign it, it has to be the same date as the referee sign it! if not! they will ask you again to take it to the referee and do it all over again! :(
