Interestingly, between my boyfriend and I, he's always the late one. I always get anxious about getting late. I try to avoid the stress that comes with rushing as much as I can.

Thank you for your post. I read the entire thing to my boyfriend, and he says he agrees with you on everything except for the money talk. He says asking someone about financial matters is like asking for nudes. So I want to clarify what you meant by it! Haha

"A girl in my office who is about my age taught me about the 'Nandos experience'" - Please do tell!

"Another advise, a lot of Filipinos here in London have become very boisterous." - I did read your thread on this. Through the years, I've heard/read stories like this, which is sad. I've always thought that I wouldn't be that homesick because of the presence of Filipinos all over the world, but now I'm more cautious. It's sad, but in a way maybe it's a good thing - we do get forced to step out of comfort zone and meet other people, not be cliquish with fellow Filipinos.

Lastly, we're interested in your Australia experience, too. How does it compare to London? My boyfriend's goal is to eventually move out of London to maybe Brisbane because he says Londoners are too cold and there's not much of a community there. How was your experience?

The rain is very unpredictable. One minute it rains and then it stops and then it rains again. I had a funny experience with the rain there. I always love to walk from his house to the park and it's a 30 minute walk so the moment I reached the park it will start raining so I will end up running back to the house, soon as I reached the house then the rain stopped. I then started walking back to the park for 30 minutes and soon as I got there it started raining again. That was really annoying and I went back to the house again and it stopped raining. Uggh. I was fool to think that it's gonna stop completely so I went back to the park and then it was raining again, stupid enough I went back to the house, changed my dress and turned on the TV and watched Wimbledon and it didn't rain anymore at all when I settled at home. That was really annoying for me :frust::eek::erm:

All this shower/bath talk is interesting. Boyfriend takes a shower twice a day - once before work and once after. Haven't heard any mention of less shower from him.

Lol. That's a funny story. Isn't the predictability a bit similar to ours, though? One moment it's too hot and sunny and the next it's pouring heavily! That's why I always bring a portable umbrella with me no matter what the current weather is. I'd definitely make sure to bring one or two when I move! Haha

It's freezing cold for a start and once it penetrates your clothes the wind makes it even colder.

You have sort of predictable rain, at various times of year, lets say the beginning of June, you know roughly that it will start raining about 7pm you don't get too many surprises with the rain.

We on the other hand are also never surprised by the rain, basically because it never really stops raining doesn't matter which month, you can pretty much expect rain, more so in Scotland even more so in the Lake district in the north of England.

It was raining earlier and I am just about to go out so I expect it will rain later so my jacket is going with me.

We can have a howling gale followed by torrential rain thunder and lightning followed by a clear sky sun everywhere, followed by hailstones the size of peas, all in the space of quiet summer afternoon :D

@oss reply pretty much says it all lol.

One thing I noticed, they British people are obsessed with the weather, hahah they pretty much look at the weather forecast every now and then. Also, since I was there during Spring and Summer I noticed how they dressed as well lol. You'll be surprised how they're so wrapped up during cold season and then almost wearing nothing on sunny days of Summer. I noticed the teens there who are very wrapped up in cold season and then I was surprised to see very very short shorts on Summer. Also some hot guys are going shopping shirtless and it's completely cool to them. :D

Oooh I think the rain's being freezing cold is indeed a big difference. Here, it's almost always hot unless there is a typhoon. So when there's a non-destructive typhoon coming, I always feel comforted by the rain. Hopefully, I don't learn to hate it!

Haha! I was told this exact same thing a long time ago. Weather is apparently a conversation starter/common topic!

"Also some hot guys are going shopping shirtless and it's completely cool to them."

What! What do you mean by going shopping? As in inside the malls? We recently went to Coron and we spotted a few white guys topless going from shop to shop (not a mall) and I was a bit shocked. Filipinos do it when they're near their house/neighbourhood store here in Manila, but not when they're in very public places, unless they're workers (construction and the like). Boyfriend said it's common in the UK lol.

We live in a privileged location here in the UK, by rights we should be a really cold freezing ice covered country given our northerly latitude the fact that we are such a wet and relatively warm country for being so far north is entirely due to the ocean current known as the gulf stream, this is a vast current of warm equatorial water that makes its way round the north of the Atlantic ocean and transfers its heat to the atmosphere and is responsible in large part for the south westerly trade winds which blow across Britain. That heat also evaporates a lot of water during its journey which forms clouds that then precipitate on Britain when they reach our shores, that is why the west is usually much wetter than the east of the country the competing forces of polar weather fronts result in a constant battle where the weather blows every which way from the south in the Sahara bringing the hot winds the freezing cold northerly's and the wet western trade winds.

Its location has made it a very green and fertile country.

It also resulted in a people that cannot stop talking about the weather.

I know how you feel. I was paying more for water in the Philippines and, in Cebu at least, it wasn't even safe to drink, so had to pay extra for five gallon flagons of the stuff. Now I'm paying about the same here in Euros as you are in Pounds.

Hahaha yeah you're right it's a common convo starter, I was greeted with a few random people with that on the street and ask me how i feel about the weather lol :D

Not really in a mall, I've seen them in a supermarket haha I was shocked at first, but I wasn't complaining, not at all :frust::lol:

Also @Numpters one thing I noticed about British people. They're very polite lol, they always say sorry, like always. They don't necessarily mean to apologize but they do say it a lot. HAHAH. :D
