Is Universal Credit be counted as an income or can be considered as exemption for FR?

Hi Kuya is Universal credit benefit for limited capacity to work counted as exemption for the finacial requirements? Just worried as I checked payslips for whole yr ( paid different amount every month ) that might only £15000 so we have a shortfall. Just wondering if universal credit counted as income? Or exemption for the financial requirements? I came across a page saying if can't meet the financial requirements we can use a thrid party sponsor and their income can be add on to mine. How true is this? Any ideas? Many thanks in advance Kuya .

Sadly Kuya (R.I.P.) passed away a number of years ago, @UKDJ is probably a good source of information for your question.

A quick Google search shows Universal Credit (UC) is a catch-all benefit, so it depends which benefit(s) the sponsor was receiving before moving onto UC!
It's a bit 'wordy' but here is the full FR guidance - https://assets.publishing.service.g.../file/1039148/1.7_-_Financial_requirement.pdf

For information, I currently receive both PIP & ESA but am NOT on UC. I believe UC covers such things as Housing Benefit, which would NOT make you exempt from the FR.

If your friend is at ILR stage is there a reason they cannot use the same information from previous applications updated of course or have circumstances changed?

Just read through the detail and your info us correct that cannot get a fee waiver for ILR as normally related to ECHR requirements and doesn't have to provide ILR under ECHR but can get s waiver for an extension of FLR is can just get another FCR extension.

If you are disabled and receiving benefit for that, I think you can get an edge ……

    Hi, hope everyone is well.

We are on the process of gathering documents now, for submission next month. We are going with Cash Savings route and one of the mandatory documents is Declaration of the source of income. My question is, is this declaration just a letter or does it have to be legal document with a format/template and stamps.

would appreciate is anyone can give us a sample declaration letter to start and work on, thank you so much.

Also, where can we find form VAF4A? To those who has recently submitted an application, is it still needed? Thank u

i had no choice but to go with savings. I had to sell my house to release the equity--and held it in my bank a/c for 6 months before applying. I wrote a declaration saying where the money came from--and included a copy of my solicitors house sale completion statement just in case.

Thank you so much bigmac, so it is just a letter.
Also, May I know to whom it will be addressed to? Is it

    The Entry Clearance Officer
    British Embassy Manila
    Taguig City, Philippines

    Or

    The Entry Clearance Officer
    UK Visas and Immigration

    Or?

    Thank you so much :)
