a settlement visa will gain the UK economy £5000 in fees and surcharges---and very likely a skilled worker who will work legally and pay £??? in taxes. at zero cost in the first 5 years. a visit visa brings in about ninety quid.
me and my gf recently got refused for a visit visa , we found some documents had gone missing when they were returned to us, these were documents relating to her work and they refused her on the basis that she had no job to return back to
Are you going to invoke the complaints procedure? Sounds like you've got a good case if they lost documents. I am thinking about it.
Plus the fortune we would have spent while she was over here - anyway London's loss is Boracay's gain
Second best. The natural beauty (e.g. mountains, forest, beaches, etc.) plus it's a safe place, as far as Mindanao is concerned. But in my opinion, there are much more things to do in Cebu. Better nightlife and more activities (e.g. kayaking, surfing, wine testing, sky diving, more international cuisine, etc.) Still it depends on what you want. You won't make a mistake choosing either one.
Davao is currently the 4th safest city in the world according to Numbeo - and definitely the safest city in the Philippines. These things aren't available in Davao? I think you'd be surprised. Cebu does have more nightlife but only in the 'Fields Avenue' sense.
Thanks for the inputs lads - I will visit both places with my honey this month now I know she won't get the visitor visa here - so I guess the tossers in the British Consulate have done us a favour
tossers ?--oh--you mean the very nice guys who will be looking at your settlement visa application eventually ?
I like Davao, but I like Cebu better. So maybe I'm just bias. I also love the live band/music culture better in Cebu. Still both places are better compared to here in NCR. Maybe when I'm at your ages, I'll retire at either of the two.
Yes, they may be pricks but they're also the ones who will handle your settlement visa in the future. So careful now... Hahahhahaha...
Sorry to insult you if you are a member of the embassy staff mate but I am still fuming mad that 2 bona fide applications have been so arrogantly rejected with no right of appeal. Although I have been forced to change my plans I do still intend to invoke the complaints process because an injustice has been done here.
i wouldnt bother to be honest, iwas using a lawyer to do my 1st application, she has tried to do an eco review which she has charged me £300 to do,and i have been waiting around 9 weeks now and we havnt heard nothing from the eco officer, the lawyer and myself have probably sent around 10-12 emails but we have not heard a thing, we have both even tried to contact my local mp to try and help but same again no response, my gf even handed in the documents from our lawyer by hand and same again no response
How does that work, Halo? According to Numbeo ........ Isle of Man: Index Crime Index:17.19 Safety Index:82.81
