the stats are open to the possibility of manipulation. You could say that about all stats of course however I'd be more willing to believe the collation of UK census that numbeo.
It seems to be driven by those that wish to express an opinion. Rather than a representative sample. Could also be patronised under duress?
Yes potentially that could be the case and also that it is publicly accessible from anywhere through an anonymous mechanism.
I think living in the Philippines you need to have boots on the ground going to visit is a different thing with the rose colored glasses. Choose a place and RENT for six months don't get stuck with a house and decide you don't like the area. Cebu is a nice place but if you want white sand paradise forget it. Daveo is very safe and a nice place but it's still an up and coming city. We are all different and like different things. For me the UK has more to other my family, parks, museums etc etc for a little gorilla of three.
Hi Bigmac, I am still in the UK, but we are now planning for the next visa application. Your statement got my attention when you said "with a partner of 4 years i'm hoping to bring over on a settlement visa later this year". Please help me understand, can a filipina apply for a settlement visa (provided they are living in a relationship for 2 years, has been to UK twice and Brit has been to Phil thrice, NOT married yet). The reason I ask is, My annulment is ongoing and hopefully resolved end of this year December 2015. Our relationship is over 2 years, we are thinking of going for a fiance visa, or settlement but we are not yet married. I based my understanding on this website https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk Please feel free to correct me. To apply for a ‘family of a settled person’ visa, you must be from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland. You’ll need a ‘family of a settled person’ visa if you’re from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland and you want to join, for 6 months or more, a partner or family member who’s living in the UK permanently. Your partner or family member must have one of the following: British citizenship - check You must prove that you and your partner are 18 or over and in a genuine relationship. You must be one of the following: married or civil partners living together in a relationship for 2 years engaged to be married or to become civil partners So there you go. Any inputs, much appreciated.
From what you say, after anullment, you would be eligible to apply for a "Spouse" or "Fiance" version of that visa. Yes. It would have to be applied for by you in the Philippines. That document you quote above, is the one you would need to look at, yes.
Hi JohnAsh thank you very much. I really appreciate your reply just making sure I'm looking into the right page. I knooo it is a bit too early to ask since firstly am still in the UK, I just want to gather more info now and prepare docs when I get back. When I get back home to Cebu in October(granting annulment is done) is it safe to apply for the settlement in November or December? Again appreciate taking time to reply
'' sorry shang--only just saw your post to me earlier. in your case--getting the annulment is the key to your future--so just wait till you get that. took my fiancee 14 months to get hers. then--once you get the relevant paperwork--you will be free to apply for a fiancee--or a spouse visa if you choose to marry in the filis first.
