Just thinking about honeymoon locations, because we're going to put it in our letter for the visa. I know we can't go to any other countries in Europe because we'd need a Schengen Visa, but can we go to these places - Isle of Wight Isle of Man Ireland Channel Islands - Jersey/Guernsey Thanks in advance to anyone who can clarify
All of them maybe with the exception of the Republic of Ireland. Definitely IOM and IOW and probably Jersey Guernsy too. Oh and Scotland. For the moment.
Well, the mainland would be ok too - just somewhere nice and romantic - any ideas? Thanks John, can anyone clarify Jersey/Guernsey? And is Ireland a definite no?
Jersey and Guernsey are often treated the same way as IoM. But best to check. Ireland is a marginal one. I enquired at the ferry terminal here for trips to the republic of Ireland and they said they don't ask for passports for Dublin. One hears conflicting stories.
Thats why we arent going to the Republic of Ireland. We are going to N.Ireland in a few weeks but won't travel south of the border just in case. Not with wife and baby and all.
Having a Honeymoon in the UK, depends on your budget, where you are based. and what you want. Some people might enjoy Blackpool Others might enjoy the Lake District The sights of London. Why not fly to Bali in Indonesia, that seems a better place for a honeymoon. My understanding is that 30 day Indonesian visa is free for PI passport holders, and $35 for UK passport holders, please check. Or closer to the UK, try Egypt...
Lisa, All of the places you mention are within the UK Common Travel Area and do not require separate visas for those subject to visa requirements. At least that is my understanding. There are some very pretty - and romantic - villages in Pembrokeshire and particularly the stretch between Haverfordwest and St Davids, such as Solva. There are no end of cottages and farm houses available as holiday lets at all price breaks. Or there's a fort from the Napoleonic Wars that's been converted into a 22 bedroom 5 Star hotel about one mile south of Portsmouth, in the middle of the Solent.
Oh yes, I've just looked it up - Spitbank Fort? I never knew that existed! I'd be too scared of the whole thing sinking lol but it looks an amazing place. I love that area of Wales actually, but we'd like to go somewhere neither of us has been before. I think we might go for Jersey or Guernsey Markham, you think we can go to Ireland? That might be another option then.
Well, we are off to see the Giants Causeway, the Old Bushmill Distillery, the Titanic Museum and a jaunt round the biggest inland waterway in the UK, Lough Neagh. And trip trapping across the below rope bridge. All in Northern Ireland. We will be wearing flak hats when we are there, mind.
Did you know that one (at least) of Red Funnel Lines fast craft was built by Halsey Marine at its (then) yard in Balamban, Cebu?
indeed i did--it was second hand when it got here--it had 12,000 miles on the clock !! not sure where the current one (s) were built---much bigger and better than the first few
Good ideas there Dave, worth looking which countries can be visited on a Philippines passport where no visas are required.
Here we go, we might as well have the full list of countries you can visit on a Philippine passport visa free. I don't know how accurate the information is. http://www.ivanhenares.com/2014/02/philippine-passport-visa-free-countries.html
