    1. Are you saying that after 2 years you never applied for the ILR? If that is the case you will have to reapply for a settlement visa again, only this time it will be 5 years before you can apply for the ILR

    2. You need £62,500 which has been kept in a immediately accessible account for 6 months prior to the visa application.

    3. Doesn't matter if the passport is in her maiden name, change the name, report the marriage if you wish when the passport is up for renewal.

Take a look at the London Philippines Embassy website for registering marriage etc. Note you will have to pay a small fine for not registering the marriage earlier.

thanks for the reply, sorry i did not clarify i already have a job here in the uk for briefly 4 months minimum wage but my hours are not full time i can get 800 to 1000 a month, how will my present salary help or change the savings that i should have, and what is meant by ILR ? is there any group that supports our cause, to bring our spouses here.

my other question is if i am not able to sponsor her spouse visa yet, her visitor visa expires and she has to go home, is she allowed to come over on another visitor visa and how soon can she apply when she gets home

we really appreciate your response, there are just so many confusion when you read the articles on the website. goodnite and Godbless!

Regarding the visit visa she can only stop in the UK for 6 months out of the 12.

The spouse visa is going to be a bit of a problem if you don't meet the £18,600 financial requirement.

ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) this is what our loved ones apply for at the end of 5 years in the UK.

with a salary of £1000 a month ( £12,000 a year ) you will be £6600 short of the earnings requirement ( £18,600 ). so you will need savings of

    £6600 x 2.5 = £16,500 plus £16,000 threshold...so a total of £32,500.

thanks again for the info, i figured out what ILR meant though ha ha ha....but you are very helpful...now if she goes back home in August when her visa expires that means that she can apply for another visitor visa by march again to complete the 12. i think we are ok with this until im able to meet the financial requirements...this is hard really hard for us we've never been separated since we got married...but i think we just have to do whatever we can do to keep in touch...

Being separated from the loved one is not much fun as most of us here on the forum are all well to aware, 6 months is not a long time, you'll just have to bite the bullet as they say. Remember, you can always pop over to her homeland to see her for a couple of weeks in the interim period.

you can have more than one job--if you can get it. the £18,600 earnings is gross--i.e before tax and NI stoppages, and any living costs--such as rent--are ignored. you need 6 months payslips and bank statements to show it.

    how about your accommodation ?

Hi Howard. ..how did your spouse application go. Am I correct in saying the applicant still has to pay the visa application fee if her sponsor is receiving pip (personal independent payment)

Howerd's visa application was successful, you will still have to pay the visa fee when claiming PIP.

Further Leave to Remain (Marriage), grants the loved one a further 2.5 years in the UK.

    Hi all quick question.

My partner hasn't got an income but i meet the financial requirements just fine. She's worried that because she can't prove that she can support herself or prove that she has had an income our application will be declined.

Im confident that because I meet the financial requirements it shouldn't be highlighted as an issue? Can anyone clarify and stop us worrying?
