Is the 18,600 gross profit requirements or annual gross income we are confused as they said eco can only count gross profit. Deductable expenses is not counted.

Hello everyone, Thank you for approving my membership here. I am Liezl I have recently got engaged to my fiancé, he is from the North east of England. He is currently here in Mandaluyong with me and greatly enjoying the November warm weather. On the weekend I took him on a long bus drive to San Andres, Quezon province the home of my parents and other family. He greatly enjoyed himself on the farm and the whole experience whilst there. The only thing he did not enjoy was the 9 nine hours bus ride (his derrière still sore from those hard seat lol) Our plans in the future are to marry and live in the UK permanently. Because we have known each other for only 17 months, we cannot yet apply for spouse visa. My fiancé would like me to come to the UK as soon as possible. Can anybody plz advice which route we should take. We would appreciate any advice from the members. Many thanks and kind regards. Salamat po :)

There's no rule stated by the UKVI that you have to be together for 24 months or so to apply for spouse visa. You can apply for a spouse visa once you are married with your fiancé even if you are only together for 17 months provided you can show you are on a genuine relationship.

What do you mean your fiancé wants you in the UK as soon as possible? Do you only want to visit there or live there right away? I believe as soon as possible is a bit OTT hehe because everything needs preparation. The route that you will take solely depends on you. What route do you want to take? If you've decided then everyone here can help you through the process. :)

    Welcome here btw. ;)

Many thanks for your reply sir broom27, we think we have to apply for fiancée visa first then after marriage, apply again for spouse visa.

Perfect. If you want to go with that route you are in the right thread. Have you read the first post? It will tell you about applying for a fiancé visa.

And you can ask questions here if there's something you want to clarify or not sure at. Just feel free. :)

And please don't call me Sir. Haha masyado pong pormal. ;)

Its entirely your choice whether you apply for a Fiancée visa and get married in the UK or marry in the Philippines and then apply for the spouse visa, both visas are basically the same and you have an equal chance of the visa being granted. Overall financially there is little difference in the two routes, the spouse visa would allow your wife to work as soon as she arrives in the UK, with the Fiancée visa you would have to wait until the first FLR(M) is granted after marriage in the UK.

Your financial situation doesn't matter. Only your partners financial capability will be taken into account (although this is subject to exemptions). As long as your fiancé can provide proof that he meets the income threshold then you should be fine. :)

It is only your sponsors finances the UKVI are interested in, he will either have to meet the financial requirement of £18,600 pa through salaried or self employment income or through one of the exemptions if claiming certain benefits in the UK.

Basically if he is working in the UK and earns above the financial requirement for the settlement visa then you are halfway there :)

you both really need to study up on the requirements for your visa application. for starters heres a link to the sponsorship appendix. read it all carefully. your application depends on this

Your unemployment has no bearing in your application provided that your Fiance will sponsor you in UK but he is required to have an 18,600 GBP gross annual salary.

I believe that as an alternative to a salary, he will qualify if he has £62,500 readily available in a bank account.

As you collect more documents you would need for applying a visa, you might want to schedule for an IELTS or TB test, that's a requirement for you.

If you apply for spouse visa you don't need to worry about engagement, the ECO is not concern with your engagement. You need to provide stuffs about your wedding instead, show pics that the wedding actually happened with family and friends and with an actual wedding dress to prove that it's a genuine wedding.
