I didn't use priority but I got my fiance visa after 5 weeks. The thing is, I applied in Dubai. The only orig docs I submitted were my passport and my COE. The rest were scanned copies (sponsor's docs, screenshots for proof of communication eg. whatsapp, skype logs, fb chat). I saw a pinay blog. She did the same thing (all scanned copies). She applied from the Phil.

There is documented guidelines that clearly state the clock starts ticking at payment and electronic application submission

Good to know... I will be using @NixSC's timeline as a comparison for our own waiting time!

That's so cool. Just 5 weeks! Maybe because there are fewer people applying in Dubai.

    We'll do the standard application.

Thanks so much for that info.

Surely it should make no difference where you are applying FROM - once UKVI receive the application and evidence - only whether or not you choose the Priority Service... or is that a naive assumption?

I'm not sure. I assuming things here.
He mentioned they didn't do priority, and applied to Dubai.

My theory would be this (and it is only my view)
What they do is look at each and all applications and award points.... the very straightforward ones they deal with as soon as, for example high earners, own house, loads of supporting evidence, all this requires little research.
Then they look at the the next crop these may need a little more consideration and research ie borderline threshold earners, those in receipt of benefits, people in rental etc.
then the even more complicated ones and so on.
So depending on individual applications it generates a waiting period

in the case of my wifes son's ( failed ) application...we were told it had been put on hold pending a court decision regarding applications from dependent children. so--all told from online app to returned passport took about 4 months.

:like: Might be. I think it's also because of the British Embassy (Abu Dhabi) as the approver. My fiance visa has stamp of British Embassy Abu Dhabi.

Each country has different processing times (percentage). We've checked the site before and compared UAE and Manila.

IF your 'theory' is, indeed, anywhere near the truth @Mattecube that really sucks...

Personal circumstances - often beyond your control - dictate whether you receive a 1st, 2nd or even 3rd class service!!! :(

    Hi guys.

    Just a quick question.

My fiancè just recently purchased a flat and he already had a solicitor doing all the paperworks for him.

I'll be doing my tb test soon this coming Friday, my question is:
Is it okay if I used the address of the flat even though he doesn't live there yet or technically owned it?

He told me that we might get all the documents ready as well as the keys of the flat this coming May or June. Also it's the same address we'll used for The proof of accomodation when I apply for my fiancèe visa.
Or should we just use his parents address for now, for TB application form or certificate?

We just want to do the TB test ASAP and IELTS so I can send him all the docs and once we have the flat sorted out we'll be launching my visa application.

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

I have to commend the VFS global here in Dubai (located at Wifi Mall) ;)

I tried their premium lounge service… (paid an extra charge) I’m not quite sure if it’s also considered priority as I actually got my UK visa approved literally within 3 days :)

Same thing when I applied for Schengen visa, paid for premium lounge service and my visa was processed within 3 days :D

Although it’s actually just a tourist visa... perhaps it's more intricate when it comes to fiancé visa :geek:

    Best of luck @shie1989 :like:

Personally, I would use your partner's current address with his parents. Believe me, a lot can change when buying property in the UK. Even though the purchase may seem like it is 99% complete, things can change unexpectedly.

If his parents' address appears on the TB cert, this can easily be explained later on when completing the various forms. It would be a little more tricky trying to explain an address where he has never actually lived (if the sale of the property did not complete).

When the sale does (hopefully) complete, it will take about 4 weeks until the Land Registry is updated with your partner's name on the title if he is requesting this to go along with your application,

I recently went through a house purchase myself. The first place for which I made an offer was accepted. Paperwork was going through with the lawyers. Suddenly, I had an apologetic call from the estate agent who told me that a higher offer had been accepted, even though the property had been taken off the market. I was fuming!!!! I suspect the apologetic estate agent had another client looking to buy a house and then rent it out, so alerted him/her to this property for which the sale had not completed. The whole experience of moving house has added 20 years to my age. The fiancé visa application another 10 years. With luck, I'll have 15 years of quality life remaining.

Thank you so much for this PorkAdobo.
I really want to get others insight, my fiancè is a first time buyer so we're kinda clueless haha. We're not really sure on the process on how and when will the solicitors finish the process and what will happen after that.

I'll let my partner know. Thanks again.

Same here, we applied for my wife visit visa via VFS Global in Wafi Mall. Very fast, easy processing, but then her case was very straightforward.

very simple really, at the time of any application, test or reference to current address use the one you are living at,at the time.
