Britain spent an estimated £500,000 in the past year storing boats used by migrants to cross the Channel. The government has to keep hold of the small boats for 12 months to give the owner the opportunity to claim them - despite no one coming forward to collect one in the past year.7 Aug 2021

My idea is more like a slave labour camp.

here on the isle of wight there is a perfectly good prison--standing empty. ( new housing estate ? ) Why not put it to better use than empty. Fill it with illegals--and transport them to work camps such as large farms where they work full time--for a real wage--rather than benefits. After (say) 5 years they can apply for settlement and citizen ship. BUT the main thing is to publicize this world wide--send a firm message. And no more pizza.

The ban on working would solve the channel drownings  but advisors follow your line of thinking.

Sky news just said many from the Middle-East and Africa are fleeing "Economic failure" :ninja: Economic migrants in layman's terms.

One kid was coming to the UK to play football, he pestered his father to stump up £20 thousand pounds to allow him to do just that.
Correct, except nowadays they don't even crew the boat, they allow one migrant free passage if he crews the boat :ninja:

It does say some had tried the legal route many times!

If they had tried legality many times then they weren't eligible, that's why they became illegal immigrants, the crew of a trawler have just been jailed for bringing 69 Albanians illegally into the UK,I wonder their excuse.
