Nope. Patel is hardly the sharpest tool in the shed and in common with most politicians often engages her mouth whilst her brain is in neutral.

The law doesn't allow them to work, the same as illegal immigrants in any country around the world, once you allow that your setting a precedent that makes you attractive to yet more illegal immigrants.

I gather that UK policy is more restrictive than many eu countries on allowing them to work whilst their case is being considered.

The obvious solution is to speed up processing. We've all been on the wrong end of home office incompetence - 6 months for a visa decision is hardly stellar.

i cant see why illegal immigrants cant be usefully employed...working gangs paid to help growing and cropping our food . Just needs organising properly--which would also create proper jobs.

It's never as simple as that, we need rules and immigration laws, as do all countries. :)

sure--and arent these illegals breaking our laws ? If they can be put to doing useful work--taking over from the eastern europeans who used to do the work.

Allowing them to work would be rewarding their uninvited entry to the UK :)
My son's legal paperwork is currently going through, hopefully he will be in Florida by April fingers crossed, wasn't cheap, why couldn't he just go to the states and stay uninvited and start working?.........Rules and laws :)

isnt that what the mexicans are doing.

so--our uninvited guests cant work--so the country has to support them...whereas our partners are denied access to public funds for 5 years.

Many will work for relatives already here. Cash in hand, squalid conditions and poor human rights.

You can't put someone to work you don't know is here, those we do know are here if we put them to work they would abscond.

Is delays in the visa system HO incompetence?
Quality and volume of applications will/must influence decision times.
Delayed or non Responses from third parties wont help.

We didn't wait 6 months for any of our applications (( 6 applications in total)

In fact my wife's BC decision came back in 3 weeks!
