The nature of the post "It needs stopping" is a viewpoint that the few unscrupulous people should be stopped preying on the desperate to make large amounts of money as we found out a few days later it ends in tragedy, and those that have worked in the haulage industry have been predicting tragedy in the people smuggling long before Mo and his cronies turned up. I dont believe I have a god given right on anything other than my own life, but what I do believe is that we live in a democratic society that allows me to have opinions and beliefs, I also believe we live in a fairly law abiding society. You will note I used the phrase "maybe we are seen as a soft touch" I agree there is the element of UK fraternity that a hard days work would frighten them!! Let me pose this direct question to you! You bought your wife and her child(ren) across to live in the UK through legitimate means at great cost, why didnt you just bring them in through the channels that are not legitimate ie back of a lorry or a banana boat?
Are we supposed to treat every new opinion on every topic expressed on the web as if it came from a complete stranger, yeah I don't know how you voted this country has a secret ballot process only you know how you voted but as a regular reader of this set of forums it is pretty clear to me that you have made it clear from your posts that your views align with most of the right wing rhetoric we have heard in this country in the last few decades and particularly in the last ten.
I see. I must have misunderstood I thought that 'it needs stopping' referred to the people arriving - and not the activities of the gangs. I have no argument with that. I didn't bring my wife illegally here because a clear, reliable and legal route exists for her to be here. Had her application been refused, I think I would have been tempted to explore other means though. I don't think arriving illegally is desirable but if the official channels are not effective then I don't blame people for trying. Can anyone here say that if they put themselves and their family in the same position, that they might not do something similar out of desperation? I know I would... As for being 'law abiding' I would invite you to consider that most people can afford to be law abiding when their existence isn't threatened and they live so comfortably that they can amuse themselves with abstractions. We have forgotten the reality of survival. In a situation where I was forced to fight for my life or thst of my family I certainly would not be law abiding. I would do whatever it took.
Obviously I considered it, I wrote those words. Apologies but I don't see what point you are trying to make.
In the not so distant future most of Europe and the UK will be essentially a police state. These people will never stop coming because there is no hope for them back home.
This has been going on few years now... This yeat upto now we have had just over 27'000 dinghy divers... Last year... 8000 It isnt stopping anytime soon Its a disgrace 4* hotels 3 meals a day... Mobile phone. £40 a week... Uk is a disgrace for even giving it them
The border force spent £7000 over two days on pizza for the people who washed up on kentish beaches, small wonder they come, for the 12 inch gluten free pacific veggie.
Yeh i did see that Absolute disgrace.. The hotels they put into apparently they ****e and pee all on the floor... They are animals.. Makes my pee boil the fact we have to pay ££££ to get loved ones here... I did tell her she should of hopped on a dinghy... She declined
ok--so what alternative suggestions are there? machine gun them before they land.? if they get here--leave them to starve or forage--or freeze to death?
They are economic migrants... They have been seen throwing their documents into the sea on the way here... Why is that? They have been told all about the land of milk and honey here... Come here... And have more rights than their citizens.. Which to be fair is true... I got declined social housing.. And yet... These people are given social housing.. Why is that?
it rather depends on what type of social housing. OK--who supplies the rubber inflatable boats ? Who makes them ? dont they have a responsibility ?
Apparently "human traffickers" provide them and these migtants pay a fee to get on a boat to get here... But... Obviously with our rules here... We cannot turn them back. Maybe time to abolish human rights act....im sure if one of us had an overstayer loved one... She would be hunted down.. Because we went the right route.... Its a disgrace
Nope, why should they take responsibility? The boat people go to UK willingly, they actually pay for the service, if the boat people pop into McDonald's for a snack while walking to the boat are macky-dees also responsible? It's a service the boat people want, every party enters into the agreement willingly, no one is forcing anyone to do anything they aren't willing to do.
To be fair.. Thats a good point.. Who would want to stay in france... They dont give them 4* hotels and 3 course meals and money
