Yes, speak to the agency, maybe they will tell you to inform the UKBA about your Facebook chat logs using the "additional information" page on the visa application. I used that page for a couple of things myself.
One thing I would say Lisa, try not to worry about it too much as you wont be the first person who has had this problem, the UKBA should be aware that Facebook is often the preferred method of communication with loved ones.
Wouldn't you be able to scroll back a lot further by going to a person's profile on Facebook? Yo can get everything there right back to when a person joined. We used a few Facebook screenshots and that was the quickest way to find stuff. With regards naughty chat, the agency I used advised against anything in the application that implied anything sexual. They said you can never be sure what the attitude of the person reading your application might be to such a thing and as such it's best to avoid it. This was actually in their instructions.
I THINK there is a function in FB where you can export all your data. Have a look round in settings. I'm on my fone right now so can't confirm.
The export thing doesn't work either - only gives about a month or so. In fact mine won't export at all now - just gives an error - I guess because there's so much there. I've got a screenshot of the number of messages between us - 247,000 - because that shows at the top when you scroll. That must count for something I guess? I mean I wouldn't exchange 247,000 messages with just anyone would I? Oh and I'll leave the naughty chat out then
i use facebook--and on my laptop i can scroll back thousands of messages---so i think its a mobile phone thing if it wont do it for you. also with skype
No, it's my laptop I'm referring to. It freezes when it gets to maybe around 10 or 20 thousand messages. There are 247,000 there!
Might be worth taking your pc to be checked out or extra memory inserted as Markham has suggested, a few quid to get all your messages retrieved will be money well spent, if the problem lies with the pc of course.
