Excellent advice, I'm sure - and thanks for taking the time and trouble to provide it. I will indeed keep the board informed of anything that may happen and any decisions I may take.

You come across as a very level headed man, rsn, and perhaps you will succeed with your wish.
Filipinas do tend to be married or in relationships when living in the UK but you never know.......

Like most men who go to the Philippines, rsn, you will be amazed at the many beauties who live on those 7,000+ islands.
They are very beautiful, friendly and courteous.

Many years ago I went to work in Brunei as an electronics technician.
On the first day I met another Englishman who was to work with me.
On the first day he asked me if I was married.
    I said "No".
He then asked me if I had visited the Philippines.
    I said "No".
"That's why you are not married", he said.

He was married to a Filipina and years later I also married a Filipina.
I had met many expat men in Asia who married ladies from the Philippines. They all seemed to be happy.

He didn't tell me about "Tampo" though

Now, back to being ignored :lol::lol:

    Hello aposhark,
So it seems as if you may be experiencing a bit of tampo today. Let's hope it soon passes.
Mind you, I've met several English women who may not have known the word ... but were certainly familiar with the concept.

    this is only my opinion:

a lot of non-european female immigrants are already settled here--especially if they came over before july 2012. those that married UK guys only had to put up with them for 2 years till they could apply for settlement.

so--if they are already settled here--they are certainly unlikely be looking for a possible future UK husband. no need for one.

and any that came over since july 2012----on what basis are they here ?

in any non-EU country--a possible UK passport is the stuff dreams are made of. go on an asian dating site and see what happens.

    Hello bigmac,
You've touched on something which has also been a concern of mine, and which is another reason - along with cost, convenience etc. - why I'm hoping to meet a Filipina already living in the UK.

rsn, when you click the reply button wait a moment or two until the quote of the post you are replying to has appeared, it is not a synchronous process, once the quote appears on screen if you have inadvertently clicked again the cursor could be inside the quote, so you need to click again but outside the quote markers and then you can type your reply.

If I was you I would join a couple of Asian dating sites, test the water so to speak and take it from there.

I'm sure some of the members here could recommend some sites.

    Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Hello rsn and welcome aboard British Filipina :welcome:

Meeting a single Filipina in UK isn't going to be easy. Based on my experience there are quite a few here but there's often a question of where you live and how to get introduced into any local Filipino community.

This time of year many Filipino communities will be organising Christmas parties. If you can find a way to attend I'm sure you'll have great fun, learn something about the culture and meet many who might be willing and able to help you with some contacts.
Hospitals would be a good starting point.

You probably need some sort of strategy to actually get invited to attend such events.

Well, I've done the same thing every reply - but don't always get the same result.

So let's see how this one goes.
