Welcome to the site Rob. As you are worried about the cost of finding a lady in the Philippines, you may want to check that you have sufficient income/capital to bring any loved on to the UK to settle. There is lots of information on the forum about that and don't be afraid to ask questions.

    Hello Howerd,
I guess, like most guys, I have certain things going for me and others that work against me. Fortunately, the financial factor is one of the positives, so there's no problem there. All the same - and without wishing to sound like a bit of a tight-bottom - finding a Filipina already in the UK is obviously a less expensive option than a return flight to the Philippines, plus a week or two in an hotel over there.
But it's really more the convenience issue, plus considerations such as the fact that she would already be familiar with life in the UK, and would already have permission to live here, so there wouldn't be the hassle of getting her over here (all the forms to fill in and checks needed to get the necessary documentation, etc).

Unfortunately life is rarely that kind to us :)

More likely than not you will have to join the majority of us here on the forum and do it the hard and expensive way.

    But who knows :)

And there they all are - just like magic. Thanks a lot bigmac. What's more, that site seems to be free. (Oh, there I go - sounding like a tight-bottom again.)

Being kuripot is not something that is really appreciated over there however most of us end up that way to some extent or other as the place has a tendency to reduce you to poverty, it's an adventure though and one that I would repeat happily.
