Looks like your in the area we will visit also, there is a little chapel Italian end of Mt Blanc tunnel that my wife has made a must visit. Santuario do Notre dame de la guerison
If your going to chamonix may I recommend Josephine's? In three days I ate escargot in France, pizza in Italy, and chocolate in Switzerland.
All looks very enticing! We do and try to eat local as much as possible the offering looks great. Also discovered when we get to Colmar they will be holding their annual wine festival. Public transport required for us I guess whilst we are there.
So we have our time in France mapped out and booked, Switzerland is sorted also now onto the Italy bit which although we will pencil in the sites in the towns/ areas we want to visit we are not booking the sites just winging it, west coast first then the east and back up through Germany.
@Aromulus have you ever visited the Sermoeta area it appears it’s 13th century and I like the look of the place for a day stop?
"Ninfa" in Sermoneta requires ahead bookings to join strictly guided tour. The century old echo system is far too fragile to let anyone roam freely. I strongly suggest to take advantage of this great opportunity ASAP as place are limited. https://www.viaggiando-italia.it/en/how-to-visit-the-garden-of-ninfa-hours-prices-how-to-book/#:~:text=From March to June: from,November: 9am to 3.30pm I visited about 25 years ago and still have vivid memories of the stunning place. Unfortunately I haven't been able to go again with my wife as couldn't get a booking for when I was in the area, or too late or early in the season. And it is a stone throw from my hometown...
Early flight to Geneva in the morning,Chamonix for lunch/Dinner,10 mile hike Thursday morning then back to Heathrow late Thursday.
