    Hi All,

We are looking to apply for the Spouse Visa in May 2018.

Has anyone applied recently and been successful? If so what was the time frame from application to confirmation? is it still around 8 weeks ( 2 months ) or can it be done sooner?

    Thanks in advance!

Depends if your app is straightforward. Also depends where you're submitting your app.

    Hi @menchu_edge ,

Appreciate the quick feedback. I am hoping its straightforward! Where would the best place to submit to get the quickest turnaround time? Or what are the time differences from say submitting from the Philippines and submitting from the UK?

    Cheers,

    Richard

    Hi @menchu_edge ,

We got married in Cebu, Philippines.

The applicant ( wife ) is based in Cebu.

    Appreciate your help!

We applied in November and still waiting for a decision. Complete joke. Money making exercise by the government. Wish we hadn't bothered now. Can't even get money back  After making a complaint we got a reply back which was very poorly written in English...unbelievable :frust: we are not hanging about any longer and are settling in the Philippines.
    Good luck with your application.

    @Leegrace , appreciate the info!

That's crazy. I thought it was a maximum of 2 months for a straightforward application. Do you have any idea what the hold up was about?

If your wife is in Phil and you married there, it's only in Phil where she can have the tests (English and TB). Also she needs to give her biometric. Well you can send the required docs from UK and apply online. That's what other members did. I have a friend who was in Phil but they got married in HK. She was able to submit her app in HK.

Hi Richard, I think it may be 2 months for priority applications unless someone else here on the forum can give more information. They did lose some of our documents so we had to send them back again.

isnt the priority service the perfect scam. when it was introduced--over 2 years ago--it was with a target of 10 days turnaround for straightforward applications--and fair play--we did see a few in that time.

now more like 2 months. priority--i dont think so

@bigmac oh dear! How much extra is priority service and how much longer is non priority service!!

May just get a tourist visa lol!

Used to be an extra £500..but may have gone up now.
Non priority application takes 60 to 90 Working days..so say 4 months.

The real kicker is priority apps just place it at the front of the queue.....so pushing the non priority application further back, thus persuading new applicants to pay the extra. I think there is a word for that ?

    Extortion ?
    Black mail ?

Though mine was fiance visa (but still settlement visa with the same requirements except marriage certificate and proof of correspondence), I received it within 5 weeks (non-priority).

Thanks for the info. If its 4 months I am wondering if I should apply for the children's passports instead of right of Abode lol.
