That's ok then With regards the property, one thing worth doing is getting a survey done on the house to ensure you have plenty of evidence that there is room for you both there.
Here is a link for the evidence you will require to prove that your accommodation is suitable... https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa..._and_accommodation_Appendix_FM_Annex_1.7A.pdf BTW, I will be submitting my wife's application soon, do you know of any requirement for how the supporting documents should be arranged? I can find nothing on this.
I used these people. http://www.propertyinspectionreport.co.uk/ It depends what part of the country you are in, but there will be others. I just searched online and found someone to do it.
Submit all your covering paper work in order of the financial form with an index on the front. Don't put anything in folders, they will just remove these at the VFS office. They just place the application in a bag ready to be transported. Make it nice and tidy, that way you wont upset the chap who is holding your life in their hands
You'll need to actual passport, not just a copy. Your husband's passport can be a copy. It's best to get it certified by a solicitor.
As Maharg says, they will need your passport, otherwise they will have nowhere to stamp your visa Hubby can have his passport photocopied and the copy certified by a solicitor as a true copy, costs about £5 only but you have to find a solicitors office that is willing to do it, in my case I went to three offices before I found one that would.
It might do. It's not worth the risk, I'd say. It's not worth the risk of not doing it, and what's 5 to 10 quid in the long term?
my solicitor did a certified copy for me--no charge. but then ive paid him £1000's in fees over the years.............
Hello Howerd. This is just for guidance in the order of documents given to me by VFS in 2012. Might give you and Emerlyn some idea.
Hi anne.. thankyou so much.. it will help a lot.. do you provide original documents? Like letter of employment of my husband, pay slip etc.
You're welcome, Emerlyn. In my case, I submitted my then fiancé's documents certified as true copies.
please bear in mind that list--whilst helpful--is in regard to the old rules--pre july 2012---and some of the information is no longer valid.
