Hi Triple@J My wife applied for spouse visa on April 27th (in Manila, regular service) and we're still awaiting a decision. Very frustrating times... I'm hoping the reason for the long wait is due to a high number of applications at this time of year. I believe the Manila office handles UK visas for quite a few other countries also. What date in May did you apply? I wish we'd paid extra for the priority service now... Hopefully some members on here will add more information. Good luck.
Hi, I applied on 27th of May and there's no update yet. I paid for the sms too but still there's isn't message from them.
My wife paid for sms also and did receive one message the day she submitted her documents, just to confirm they had been passed on to the UK embassy. Nothing else since then. It's been similar in the past when she applied for visit visas, only receiving an email after decision had been made. From what I've read on this forum I wouldn't get to worried about not receiving sms, seems VFS sometimes fail to send them even if you've paid for that service. I assume you didn't avail the 'priority service'? Just the regular?
We've been waiting just over 7 weeks now. Hopefully a visa will be granted soon but as I said I think they have many applications right now. We're just hoping and praying the outcome is good even if we have to wait a while longer. Let's hope some of the more experienced members on here can set our minds at rest a little!
just for your information, Manila seems to be slower than Cebu in making their decisions, maybe because they handle far more applications I guess. Latest statistics are 38% of applications are decided in 6 weeks in Manila as opposed to 53% decided in 6 weeks in Cebu. https://visa-processingtimes.homeoffice.gov.uk/y/manila-philippines/settlement-visas/all https://visa-processingtimes.homeoffice.gov.uk/y/cebu-philippines/settlement-visas/all
So two calendar months, or 41 working days, at this time of year isn't so unusual? Waiting for a decision is very frustrating.
No its not unusual. The official maximum wait time is up to 90 working days. If you receive it faster then it's a bonus. Don't expect to get it in 30 working days just because someone else did.
I think is was around 50 working days when we received our decision over 2 years ago, I understand your frustration, something that you will soon forget about once the visa is in hand
Thanks, we hope that's the case, sooner the better! Although expensive I now wish we'd gone for the 10 day priority service.
My wife got sms from VFS today. "The processed visa application for GWF********* was received on 7/4/2016" 47 working days by my calculation. A few more nervous days wait until 2GO get it to her.
Hi.. Hi hopscotch I applied for a spouse visa may 17 and i just received the same sms now. It took 37 working days for me..i haven't received an email yet,i got the message at 7:37 pm. Do you have the result now?is it approved or denied?thanks in advance..God bless
Great news Angelica, and I hope it's granted for you. We applied 1 day later than you, on May 18th, so hopefully she will receiver her text in the next few days
