Correct, but the first link leads you to stating that appendix 11 must be completed, that’s how I would play it.
Fill it in shouldn’t take long submit it at the biometrics and upload, let them make the decision of yes they want it or they rip it up.
Better have it than not! It’s a lot of dosh to lose if you don’t submit andd they do want it, invest the short time it will take you to complete to safeguard the fee
    That’s what I would do!

Thanks that's what I will do however the form does state not to fill it in unless you meet one of the criteria above. And none of the armed forces things apply to me.

Yes fully aware it says armed forces, it said that when my wife who is now a British citizen and her daughter went through the visa journey.
Just start on section 1 leaver all the tick boxes blank about link to armed forces.
As I say invest a bit of time, let them UKBA decide if they want it or not removes all ambiguity and safeguards your fee.
    Good Luck

Just to throw a spanner in the works - we never completed Appendix II for fiance visa and got approved no problem. it's technically an outdated form as all the information is now on the online application

Thank you for your most informative message, I'm about to make a visitor application for my filipina gf to visit the UK and after reading some of the threads regarding the application process it does look daunting to say the least so your advice is very helpful.
    Thank you

I would look at this link in particular pages upto 23
The link is aimed at guidance notes for the decision maker to use.
Therefore it gives you an opportunity to watertight your reasoning for her visit the needs of her visit. and the finance and accommodation side of things

one thing I note is you’ve been a member on here since 2017 and on your first post you talk about being in the Middle East, both of you, if this is the case travel history will help

Has anyone here applied for British citizenship recently and how long did it take, one other thing the two referees have to sign their form and the applicant provide a photo and add their full name and birth date on the back, is this copied at the appointment sopra steria or is it sent off without being copied because how are they going to copy it with the photo etc, wives appointment is in Two Weeks time .

Visitors visas are very hard to get most are turned down because there s not enough evidence to prove they will return to Phils, my wives first one was refused even though we were married have own home in U/k etc etc, you have to somehow prove they will return have work house in Phil;s etc and cash.
Don't start me on spouse application here we are 5 years later having got ILR after plenty of forms, worry stress and 12 grand spent we are now applying British citizenship , its a long road and now more expensive with the latest NHS surcharge and fees, good luck to anyone applying .

... Not to mention the raised income threshold, come April, if the Con-servatives get their way!
