Difference- mainly are how soon you can apply for citizenship and the paperwork you submit. If you have ILR and married to a British citizen, Can apply citizenship straight away. Documents required are what I provided in previous comments. You must prove you have lived in the UK 3 years before the date of your application; you must have been physically present in the UK exactly 3 years before the Home Office receives your application. If you have ILR and not married to a British citizen, You need to have been granted ILR for at least 12 months before applying for citizenship. You must prove you have lived in the UK for 5 years before date of application; you must have been physically present in the UK exactly 5 years before HO receives your application. Further details in UKVI guidelines such as time spent outside the UK, fees, etc.
What are the 4 types of citizenship? knowing your story you will want to follow .....by marriage Usually citizenship based on circumstances of birth is automatic, but an application may be required. Citizenship by family (jus sanguinis). ... Citizenship by birth (jus soli). ... Citizenship by marriage (jus matrimonii). ... Naturalization. ... Citizenship by investment or Economic Citizenship. ... Excluded categories. Naturalisation is the legal process by which a person changes their nationality. ... The criteria and process have changed over the years but for successful applicants the end result has been the same: that person is granted the same legal rights and status of a natural-born British citizen. https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Citizenship Search for: What are the 4 types of citizenship?
Thank you all for these amazing information.. will be applying on April, will update you all soon xx Thanks
The process is too slow and it takes time, so if you intend to go on holiday soon better do it after your holiday.
A lot depends on when and where you are going. Also if you are getting close to travel date you can contact them and ask for them to speed it up for a small fee. If your going to Europe then having your British Passport removes the need for Schengan visa if going to the states no visa read. Ours took about 10 weeks and you can track progress.
Ju Good idea to leave it later if you’re only visiting Philippines. In case anything seriously slow things happens!
It makes perfect sense to enter the Philippines on your Philippines passport for a number of reasons. we are doing exactly the same with my wife's daughter who travels there in May this year. On her return she will apply for BC then her and my wife will reapply for their Philippines passport dual nationality. Enjoy your holday
thank you mattecube, hope everything goes well and enjoy your holiday too.. will keep you posted soon thanks everyone for taking time to reply xx
