The smallish North Wales City I have called home for the last 25 years...

I have been following Wrexham AFC, off and on, since they played Roma in 1984. More so for the past 10/12 years. Through goodish, better and abysmal times.
Yesterday, the Club qualified for the 4th round of the FA Cup, by beating 1-0 Shrewsbury Town, and also scooped 4 Emmy Awards with the Disney+ documentary "Welcome to Wrexham" out of 6 nominations.

For all that, really, we have to thank Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mchelenney of Hollywood fame.
    I feel really happy.
Again, I will try to get a ticket for the next round. The problem is that one has to sit by the computer at the right time. Trouble is that they sell out within 3/4 hours...

So Manchester is one of the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester
The County of Greater Manchester is made up of 10 Metropolitan Districts and Boroughs namely, Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan and has a combined population of 2.8 Million people.

Greater Manchester was created on 1 April 1974, as a result of the Local Government Act 1972, and designated a functional city region on 1 April 2011. Greater Manchester is formed of parts of the historic counties of Lancashire, Cheshire and the West Riding of Yorkshire.

Now Google the boroughs of Greater Manchester there are 10 Manchester being one of the 10
    Look it up

Not disputing United is in Greater Manchester what I am saying is so is Manchester it is a borough of Greater Manchester as is Salford City.
If you look at United’s postcode it’s M ie Manchester.
Your getting bored of it, do me a favour.
