Dom for how many decades have surgeons and hospital workers have been wearing surgical masks every day, don't you think a health risk would have have been obvious by now. This is the kind of anti science that has been spread in the USA.
Indeed. What a transformation. However, from the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-53921141 The internet is littered with this stuff. It doesn’t take a lot to find it. “The team, from the University of North Carolina, looked at data from 75 studies from around the world for their research, including nearly 400,000 patients. They found that people with obesity and Covid-19 were twice as likely to end up in hospital and 74% more likely to be admitted to intensive care. They were also more at risk of dying from the disease caused by coronavirus.” Age is not the root cause.
well--this thing is getting a bit closer : my wife's sister shares a house with another female. they both work in the same care home ( NOT the one my wife runs ). the other female has -today--tested positive. the sh1t has just hit the fan.
Sweden are also starting to talk about mandatory lockdowns and Sweden's daily case rate is very much on the up, so there is still plenty of opportunity for SARS-Cov-2 in Sweden which rather puts to bed the idea that they reached herd immunity. Their population let go a little of their own voluntary very careful attitude.
Yes I did and it has got worse there since then, they are a lot earlier in the curve at the moment than us or France, a sixth of our population and 1000 cases a day just now, their summer is only just over offices and schools are only just back review them again in mid to late November.
If they had herd immunity, which has never been shown in nature for any disease outside of vaccination programs, they would have way less infections. All that graph is showing is that different countries are at different points in their epidemic. We might also ask how Sweden's population's metabolic health looked before Covid, I haven't checked but it would be interesting to know what their overall health position was.
I was there in 1985 for a year. They were a pretty clean living lot in general. I don’t know how they are now. Don’t forget we in the U.K. are amongst the worst when it comes to nutrition and it would appear amongst the worst with Covid19.
My sister moved there after she qualified as an orthoptist in the very early 70s she worked there for 3 years and loved it, I've only been once on business but it was a fantastic country to visit, I was working on a control communication system for a robotic warehouse and our hosts did the usual and made sure they took us out to sample some local cuisine, reindeer was very nice I was up in the town of Saffle.
I felt that it is getting closer too, bigmac, when my next door neighbour told me he had covid-19 a couple of weeks ago. He said he is non-infectious now but I noticed his breathing was a bit laboured. Also, my daughter had to self-isolate for two weeks as a teacher tested positive in her bubble. She and the rest of the family had no further problems I'm glad to say.
We had a letter from school saying that the school has been fortunate not to have to shut any bubble group down at all. My daughters teacher was off for a couple of weeks as her own kid had to isolate at home (not the same school). I must admit I was expecting some part of the primary school to shutdown this term but it didn’t. The school has a strict ish set of procedures for drop off and collection of the kids, including one way system, staggered start and end times, masks for parents and be parent dropping off or picking up at anytime. I do see old’uns (grandparents) dropping off and collecting. Some parents or even grandparents are involved in shielding vulnerable elders.
I was thinking about this too. When I lived in the U.S. I noticed that most people were overweight due to eating fast food so there must be a link to their Covid-19 deaths. The UK started getting obese afterwards and our Covid-19 deaths have been very bad also.
Totally agree. My trips to the USA about 20 years ago were the same. It was staggering the number of overweight people there then. But it seems the U.K. have caught up with the USA on that score now. I do believe fast food is a huge part of it. Portion size was eye watering over there too.
I cant believe the numbers of grossly obese young women i see around. Just fat pigs. Usually with stick thin weedy blokes in tow.
