@Methersgate Those boots look a little big. My wife bought some boots in Cebu, ready for the journey (I told her it is cold on the plane at night) but they are too warm in The Philippines.

They are Dubarry leather sailing boots; the size is because you must be able to kick them off if you find yourself in the water, and they go with thick wool sea boot socks. Present from me. Elizabeth practically lived in them saying they were the most comfortable footwear she has known

Sorry, people. Computer works, sober, no answer yet. K is going to collect the package from the LBC office in "FCM" (Fairview Central Mall) tomorrow morning. She spent some time telling me not to get too excited. She has a sore throat, so I told her to get here and have it on the NHS.

if it were possible to wring someone's neck over Skype K would have been a candidate when she told me that she forgot to ask her cousin to drop in and pick up the package (she was collecting the stepsprog from school - she has heard the rumours of kidnappers and her mother hen instinct has been ratcheted up accordingly...)

Funnily enough I was just chatting to a friend in Sri Lanka who has a Filipina girlfriend and she had been talking to him about kidnappers - this rumour is really doing the rounds!
