To be fair it wasn’t quite how it looks. Generally people were a couple of metres apart but from the angle it doesn’t look like that. Still pretty busy though. I found that in an effort to keep distance I had to implement the occasional swerve.
I was out today just shopping and I got the same impression i.e. that for many social distancing has become something we used to do.

That's a good way to look at mask protection, John. It is the same way I look at it. There are so many people in the distribution centres I visit who are also wearing masks too. I only wear a mask when I am next to lots of people and take it off when I am not close to anyone. There are signs everywhere encouraging people to act like this.

Yes, in the past the strict lockdown measures and social distancing have rendered masks less necessary. Coming out of lockdown and reducing social distancing effectively means that masks will be more beneficial. They surely won’t eliminate risk entirely but will no doubt help if the distances are reduced to a metre. Things aren’t too bad now as infection levels are much lower than back in a March / April, but as we get back into the winter months I have a feeling numbers of infections will increase again and at that point my gut feeling is that masks will become more commonly used in the U.K.
i want a bigger one. this one makes my glasses steam up. i would prefer a gas mask i think this one would suit me.
Another lockdown extension till 30th June, then probably another after that one. When will it ever end? Not much fun walking with a mask on in the high humidity, got breathing problems as it is. Said to wife... I can't breath. Old lives matter. More fun in the Philippines...
This amounts to the same thing really. The difference is the point of protection. Think of the condom analogy. . It’s a bit like the difference between male and female condoms. A bit. Not the same of course.
It was very interesting on the bbc news yesterday about the steroid thats cheap and readily available all over the world being used to treat severely ill covid patients. It works by doing the very thing i spoke about weeks ago..suppressing the bodies defenses. Not needed on younger patients with non life threatening conditions.
