    He's done that, Anne, and it was fine :) There was only him and one other in the seminar. He found some parts quite helpful actually, and he got his sticker at the end :) He's coming here next week :D

    I submitted my application last October 9. No updates so far.

    Lisa: Where did you send your inquiry about the status update of your application?

    Thanks =)

    Hi there!

    Well I have inquired a few times as well and they said that it has not been assessed yet by the ECO. I inquired again yesterday and they replied

    "I have tracked the status ------ and date of birth ----- and found that there are no current updates. This could be
    because your application was submitted recently or the details that you have provided above are incorrect. "

    This is going the same way as Lisa's application so I hope to have a positive result soon.

    It has been 37 days already. Sigh...

    Don't worry it's a stock reply - I had 3 or 4 or them and you get the same response from the telephone helpline too, Lisa_UK had the same too! However hard it is there really isn't a single thing you can do - well actually thats not exactly true - the wording of the reply if I remember correctly doesn't acknowledge that they have received your application, only that it hasn't been assessed. If you want to be super sure you can call the helpline and get them to confirm that your application is actually there - they won't tell you anything about the status, and it will cost you £15 or so, but it might give you peace of mind - after that you can only wait.

    If its any consolation both mine and Lisas came in 40 something days so you shouldn't have long to wait!

    Good Luck!

    Yes don't worry. Those are standard replies. I worried myself sick over the whole thing but I really needn't have. I hope you hear soon. I'm sure you will.

    From the day of the wedding on 29th of June it took 2-3 weeks for the marriage certificate, you can get it quicker if you phone them a lot and chase it up. We got ours mid July but we didn't apply for the visa until August 11th because I had some outstanding bank statements and pay slips that I wanted to send over because I heard they were funny about the bank statements being up to date on the application (my situation was a little abnormal in that I had changed address, bank account, and job (twice) in the 12 months previous)

    My wife is fine thank you, she arrived here on October 5th so all is new still! If you need more information just ask - I kept a kind of diary of our application in the thread 'THIS IS IT!!!' on this forum if you want to read how it was for us. Where are you in Phil?
