No account needed Andrew, the test can be taken for a multitude of reasons, not just for a visa. The Mrs certainly didn't register with the VFS at the time of the English test.
This is the bit that was bothering me: http://www.pearsonpte.com/TestMe/About/Pages/HowtousePTEAcademicwithUKBA.aspx
The UK Border Agency requires that you provide a print out of your score report as well as log in to your account and send your score report to them online. Send your score report online by logging into your account Print out your score report, include it in your application You can send it once the good lady registers an account with VFS, when you are ready to make your application or before if you like. It doesn't mean you have to register now before you take the test. When you take the test you receive the following on your English test report; Test Taker ID: Registration ID: Test Centre ID: One or all of the above will be asked for when you decide to apply for your visa through the VFS website.
Thanks Timmers; I am trying to figure it all out and you must think me incredibly slow witted! She only needs a score of 24 on the Pearson test and she can get that on just speaking and listening? Her conversational English is excellent but her written English like that of most Filipinos these days is basically "txtng"!
Nothing to worry about at all Andrew, unfortunately as you are probably experiencing, a lot of things relating to the visa process are about as clear as mud Its all pretty fresh in my mind though and I will help you if needed. I always say not to be afraid of asking silly questions about the visa application because there are none and I've asked them all already .
So we do the other stuff, save up for the monstrous fee, and then register an account and Kor and Krian have to attend somewhere for their biometrics to be taken?
I am pretty sure the biometrics are done on visa submission at the VFS office at the same time your loved one takes the mountain of paperwork, you certainly don't have to go anywhere special to get it done, its part of the process.
Yes. Just speaking and listening. The other two are immaterial to the UKBA. Though might be beneficial for any future job application in the UK so best to give the other two ones best shot also.
Can anyone tell me what the actual test consists of please? Is it just an xray? Or do they do that needle thing I remember having years ago?
So my Mr Lisa did the Pearson test yesterday. He was convinced he'd failed - it was very academic and scientific, but we just got the results and he got 60 which is in the B2 category - it's a brilliant score and I feel very proud of him And most importantly it makes us one step closer to being together
