My misses just missed out on C2, she was disappointed. I said well you should've studied harder instead of skyping me until 3am pre study/test :D

hi! would just like ask a couple of things about getting certain documents for spousal visa application.
*if you call the only Tb testing clinic in the philippines, how long would it take before they schedule to come in?
*vfsglobal visa application is online, so after filling up and paying online, roughly how many days/weeks before you get to lodge you papers?

apologies for the questions, i know it seems like i am very impatient but I am trying to figure out the time I'll be waiting before I can fly back to UK. I kinda need to sort out my passport since I'll just be travelling from the UK with a special pass.
    thanks!

My other half got his tb test booked for the following week. And vfs appointments were available from just a day or two onwards. Good luck with your application.

Lisa it wont be long, time fly so fast.
I think I should change my middle name to Patience, cause I have waited for my visa (first application FLR O here in UK) for 1 year and 9 months, and in the end, HO wasn't kind enough to grant us, that is why am flying back in the Philippines this October to sort things out. Hopefully, this time it will be a smooth ride.

Why was your FLR declined Dane?

it was filed after my visa got expired last 2012, though when we sought a solicitor, they said it'll be fine cause they have a 28 days grace period so after 9 months, they sent a refusal letter, we fought back and filed for a judicial review since we meet all of the requirements, then they just lured us sending consent order withdrawing the Judicial Review so they can reconsider and then they still refused it anyway, sending us back to day one. Such a pain cause I was unable to work during this time and just surviving on my partners salary alone.

Why did you come to the UK Dane, I see you were applying for a FLR (O) which means you did not come to the UK on a Fiancee or Spouse visa, were you working here, studying or just a general visitor?

Came here 2009 as a student, I was planned to move to Canada before my visa expired when I fell in love with my partner right now. I don't regret staying (as evidence of gaining a stone or two), it's just I kind of wish I made up my mind sooner, or at least met a better and knowledgeable solicitor. I was just 15 days late filing my flr cause we have to wait for civil partnership certificate and it was really harsh to dismiss our application. They even suggested in their refusal letter that she can relocate in the Philippines. I do wish we could, but unfortunately there wont be any visa appropriate for her to take except tourist which she needs to get out of the country after a couple of months. Philippines doesnt recognise same sex marriage or civil partnership and I dont think she can pursue her career as a research scientist in there. Limited opportunity for her line of work plus she's still doing her University degree right now.
We thought it was unfair to ignore these reasons and the fact that we meet all of their requirements for a spousal visa makes you think that you are being denied of your right, so we filed for JR and got duped to withdraw it in the end.
We can still go for another Judicial Review but it will probably take another 6-9 months again and it will cost us more than having a fresh application in the Philippines. We think it'll be much faster and easier since we have most of their requirements (just the TB clearance left, I think). I really do hope this time we can actually be granted so we can move on.
I see that you have your wife with you now, I wish you both well and I hope she is enjoying the unpredictable weather. Lol!
I apologise for ranting here, and thank you for showing interest, it feels good when you somehow air out your frustrations

Thanks for sharing that with us Dane, we have had one or two discussions here at BF debating when you should should submit your FLR and the like. I will be getting married in a couple of weeks followed immediately by applying for the first FLR (M). I see you mentioned about moving to Canada a while back, that is probably the only country I would emigrate to if I had a choice, beautiful country and beautiful people although the climate can be extreme. My future sister in law has just been granted a working visa for Canada and is looking forward to living there very much.

If I was you I would feel very hard done by, the solicitors that we all trust has let you down badly. You must have also found it very annoying that the UKBA suggested you could both go back to the Philippines, I know I would have.

On a more positive note, when you do go back to the Philippines and apply for a visa to return to the UK the boys and girls here can certainly give you some good pointers on the visa process if you get stuck or are unsure about anything. It isnt a difficult process but you have to be a little padantic when putting the paperwork together.

Best of luck with it Dane, hope it goes well for you both, remember there is always Skype :), I used that for over seven years.

Congratulations in advance! :like: Am sure both of you are over the moon.
I think if you just really make sure you submit it complete and on time it'll be fine. Don't give them a chance to find a fault or a loop hole. I have learned that lesson in a very hard way.
We are distraught and devastated but at the end of the day, what's done is done. We just have to move on and find a way. It's pretty sad to leave her for a while but we just think that this is temporary. If things are not sorted yet before Christmas, she'll just fly in the Philippines to spend it with me.
Yes, Canada is very nice as I have heard. Some of my family are there and weather in Vancouver is not bad as my aunts describes.
Am really glad, I have found this forum. Thank you very much for the support. Am sure I will be checking things here every now and then.
Yes Skype will be very useful. And wow! 7 years!!!! We have never been away from each other for a very long time, so it's gonna be a huge adjustment.
Thank you very much Timmers and Congratulations again!
