Hi! Am bit stuck on this one, can someone help me understand about Letter from council confirming Immigration Inspection. Is it a mandatory requirement? The last time we applied for FLR they did not ask for it. Just a tenancy agreement and plan of the house(house inventory, pictures of the rented accomodation) from the letting agency. Thank you
I didn't provide such a letter though I did query the local council about providing one, in the end I didn't bother. I think it is to prove that there is enough space within the house for the additional people ( the person(s) applying for the visa). Maybe the landlord can write a letter confirming the amount of bedrooms, saves the cost of the council providing the immigration inspection as not all councils provide them for free.
Thanks HaloHalo! It's about £90 and seems like the validity of it is just 12 weeks. We might not include it then, the landlord provided before the plan of the house which has measurement anyway. Just wanted to make sure it's not crucially needed. Thank you very much.
An update on my settlement application Finally, after 3 weeks of sorting the remaining documents I needed, I lodged my visa application today. I had a few snags on renewing my passport (local region doesn't process fast track, need to booked an appointment in one of DFA offices in manila) but as soon as I got it, it was a breeze. I got my passport back on Monday around 9am and quickly called IOM To book an appointment. Chose the next day (Tuesday). It only took me an hour and half to be examined and get the result. My partner and solicitor filled up the application online (Wednesday) and they got Friday 9:30am for my appointment with VFSGLOBAL . Came a bit early (45 minutes), they let me in,gave me a number and waited to be called. Around 9:30am I was on my way out. I did not avail on their VIPservices since the SMS update is not available and not a lot of applicants for the UK. So for now, i'll just chill, enjoy the upcoming holidays and hope to hear some good news after New Year. thank you very much to all who took time to answer my queries. @Lisa - happy to hear that you'll be with him soon.
