    The reason the base level is set at £16,000 is because this is the cut off point from receiving most state benefits in the UK.

    In other words, if you found yourself out of work for example and need to claim unemployment benefit, you would be refused if you have £16,000 or more in the bank. You would have to wait till your savings drop below this amount before you could claim.

    Hello again Leslie. If you apply for a visa AFTER you give birth, it's best to apply for your baby's British passport first. And if you're going to apply now, it would be wise to tell UKVI that you're pregnant.

    That would be ideal as there would be no visa fee for baby, unfortunately there is a massive backlog in issuing British Passports, see the link below;

    Hi Leslie---do you mean you already have a daughter ? please be aware the sponsorship financial requirements increase for every dependant child you want to bring over. also the TB test is only valid for 6 months--and must be valid when you apply for your visa.

    Hi guys!. Thanks for all the information.. As the time we will be able to apply for fiance visa we will already have 2 dependents along with me.. He got his savings and he is working with a minimum wage which can be additional to meet the financial requirements right?. He will be the only one to provide evidence for financial requirements as I don't have any savings and just a stay at home mom.. Does anyone know how much it should be for financial requirements for me along with my 2 dependents?. Sorry for asking this just a little confuse with the calculation.. Not really good in numbers.. thanks guys!.

    Leslie--as you already have 2 dependants---may i ask if you are still married ? only if you are this needs to be sorted first.

    Me and my daughter will take TB test again after i gave birth since our TB test will expire this april.. I also took IELTS last year of august.. So i think that will still be good for 2yrs.. My fiance wants me there soon and if possible he wants me to give birth there in UK.. But the financial requirements need to be 6months or more in his account so we can't apply yet..
