...... Just wondering - if a child under age 18 has to complete the Appendix at what age does the UKVI expect a child to be capable of doing this by themselves?

Clearly a toddler like @Joi's could not do this!

    Thoughts anyone?

I think they just want to make it separate to avoid confusion on their part. It's quite annoying that it has to be separated but it will help accelerate work on their part.

Thanks @Brom27 and @Mattecube -- I'm working on it now!

As a consequence does this mean that Kris will have to provide a duplicate set of supplementary papers (my payslips / bank statements / employer letter / divorce decree / Cenomar etc).

Her son's appointment is 45 minutes later on than Kris's on Friday morning. If it's a different VFS case officer will they expect a complete set of documents?

(I had suggested to Kris that she take a duplicate set anyway - "just in case".

    Thanks once more!

That's a shame Gerry if it'd been the next appointment then the financial and accommodation documents can be shared. Although in theory when Kris is called for her appointment she should be allowed to have her son to be the next applicant so their applications will be in one envelope so same case worker will work on it.

To be on the safe side, make a separate copy of those things you mention for Kris's son. Better safe than sorry. :)

Cheers @Mattecube - good idea to cross-reference. Thanks also @Brom27 - we did have the option of booking consecutive slots but we couldn't take the risk of the first appointment overrunning and, in any case, there was no guarantee that both appointments would be handled by the same official.

We'll get there - in no small part to your assistance (and a few others!)

    Good evening.

Thank you sir -- it's like a lengthy gestation period. Looking forward immensely for a successful "birth" - 2 settlement visas delivered by courier to Bacoor in a couple of months!

I think a gin & tonic is needed before bed!:like::)

Keep us posted on your journey. Lol I hope you and Kris won't stress yourselves everynight waiting to give birth. :D

You might need the gin and tonic every night for the next two months at least. :D

Interesting quandary this and just wanted to add, I guess for the little one's application you'd have to quickly switch across all your original documents like pay slips, birth certificate etc. (as well as having already produced a copies set of the documents) from Kris' application package to the second appointment??!

Well Kris (@inaroiles) and her son attended VFS Manila yesterday morning to have biometrics taken and supplementary documents submitted. Small glitch in that she had to return home for original TB certs (a misunderstanding based on what the TB clinic had said).

As it happened the VFS case officer helpfully offered to deal with Kris's son immediately after Kris....You may recall we booked 2 appointments 45 mins apart. In this case therefore 1 appointment would have been sufficient but probably too risky to gamble on same happening for others.

A slight concern is that we submitted the applications online on 21st and 23rd February - with an estimated date of departure of 1 June 2017. I only noticed last night in a UKVI document that early applications are encouraged UP TO 3 MONTHS AHEAD of intended date of travel.

I hope UKVI won't reject the applications because they were submitted a few days over the 3 month limit. The VFS appointments were within the limit so I guess it comes down to what date UKVI deems to be the date of application vis a vis indicative travel date.

Quite worried about this actually - in the greater scheme of things it seems a minor point but I don't know how dogmatic the UKVI will be in this particular circumstance.

    :(:(:(

Sorry about your plight Gerry. Why did you put June 1 in the intended travel date? I'm afraid it's more that the 3 months rule. I really hope the UKVI will be more acceptable on that matter but I have heard of the same instance as you and the application was considered invalid because of applying too soon. But don't lose hope as they may consider it, I HOPE SO. Fingers crossed Gerry. :)

Hi Glenn - it was simply a date chosen to fit in with our provisional travel plans. I simply missed / was unaware of the 3 month requirement.

If it's a rule then I fear we're stuffed. If the application is ruled ineligible I wonder if we can claim a refund or will we have lost £2600?

You will receive the payment back. But it's just a shame if that will happen. Doing the appointment all over again :frust::oops:
