I haven't had a drink for over ten years, the only thing I miss funnily enough is wine, I love the glug glug noise as you are pouring it out of the bottle and sharing it with a loved one. Having a can of diet coke on the table just doesn't do anything for the ambiance LOL
In a roundabout way............. It is all down to the personal sense of greed of the individual concerned.
My lady said it would be a good idea to have the eye test and buying the new glasses in the Phils at Christmas but like yourself I was concerned about them being ready in time as I can only go for two weeks at a time unfortunately.
I know what you mean, in my opinion the fairer sex are always better at doing two things at once, us men can be a little blinkered to things that are going on around us.
Indipendent Opticians/Optometrists can be better and a lot cheaper than large companies........... And free to deal..
You know you are probably right there, and think we are all guilty of sticking with the same supplier even though we know there could be better deals to be had elsewhere. Bank accounts, credit cards and utility suppliers are a prime example of that, I've had the same three for 20 years and above.
I started shopping aroung quite a while ago, when I realized that loyalty to a brand of services doesn't count for anything anymore. Take Car insurance for instance, mobile phone contracts, etc,etc.......
I agree with you 100% its fools like me that ends up paying extra for the same services. I have had a thought, when the loved you comes over in a few months I could give her the project of finding cheaper suppliers for the things we have mentioned. You're right about the loyalty not counting anymore that went out of the window years ago. I can never understand companies that offer special deals for new users and don't give the long standing customers anything.
Just back from boots with three pairs of new glasses, safety, normal everyday and reading glasses like the bottom of a milk bottle which I wont be wearing. Glasses might be cheaper in Hong Kong but I doubt whether they will be better as I don't see how they would be better as it surely depends on the optometrist. Forgive any spelling mistakes, just breaking the new bins in. I must say though, I would like to go to Hong Kong for glasses as its a good night out there, what I'd save on the glasses I could spend on food and drink
I only asked because a surprising amount of specs in theUK are made in Asia. The turnaround is 1 extra day from dispense to picking them up from the opticians opposed to those manufactured in the UK
