My wife and I went to Portugal in 2013 and Spain in 2014. On each occasion she applied for and aquired a Schengen visa.

    Where do you live?

I have worked at BAE a few times, I have never seen the nuclear submarines they are building there though, I would very much like to though.

Ask the hubby if you can have a day or two in the Lake District on your way home, you'll love the scenery for certain.

Yes. Beatrix Potter was from that neck of the woods. Some people have developed this themed "house" with excellent models reflecting he stories and artwork in her books. Not everyones cup of tea, but I thought it was very well done. Bit pricey mind.

If anyone is a lover of Beatrix Potter's stories I would say pay it a visit.

There tourism enthusiasm is second to none, they take pictures of everything, I wonder if they get home and say what the hell did I take that picture for.

Interesting to read the contrasting reviews, just goes to show that you cannot please everyone all the time. I think that people expect too much from these places sometimes, they forget that these places are aimed at young children, they review like its the adults that have to be catered for and pleased and not the tots.
